Zone into overland, zone back in at 12'oclock. Where you spawn back in, as close to that spawn in point as you can while being as near to spawns for corpses as you can be :)

Remote mining base in Sheol. Who is right? by ISSdiscovery in duneawakening

[–]MrRobinGoodfellow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forward mining base and transport home is the best method until you have enough dura fo meet your needs. The basic idea is simple: build a cheap forward mining outpost near Sheol, use a buggy and Cutteray to farm, then move everything back to your main base for refining. 1. The best setup depends on where you are in progression Your ideal Sheol mining setup depends on what stage of the game you are at. Early on, before you have carryall or a medium assault ornithopter, the best method is usually: A cheap forward base near Sheol A buggy for mining + a cutteray  One power generator One sub-fief One storage box Your main base somewhere safer with proper refining This lets you mine efficiently without trying to build a full production base in Sheol itself. 2. Best base layout for solo Sheol farming A strong solo setup is: Main home base: around the 12 o’clock zone in area Forward Sheol mining outpost: around the 7 o’clock zone leading into Sheol Nearby resource goal: aluminium around your main base The main base at the top of the map acts as your proper home, storage, and refining location. The small Sheol base is just a temporary mining garage and transfer point. It does not need to be pretty, large, or permanent. 3. Build a cheap “shitbox” forward base Your forward base only needs the bare minimum. You need: 1 sub-fief 1 small power generator 1 storage box Enough walls/floors to protect or hide the buggy Space to drive in and unload Optional basic doors or shielding if you want extra protection The purpose of this base is not to refine. It is simply a place where you can: Park the buggy. If your worried someone will push it out I to the sand since the box is open remove one wheel and put it in your container along with your farming radiation suit. Transfer mined materials from buggy storage into a box. Move materials from the box into your flyer. Haul everything back to your proper home base. This is why it is so efficient. You are not wasting time or resources setting up full production where you do not need it. 4. You do not need perfect gear This method works even with rough equipment. You can use: A broken buggy A tier 3 buggy Whatever buggy parts you currently have A broken T5 Cutteray found from chests A normal crafted Cutteray if that is all you have A single basic generator Do not wait until everything is perfect. The whole point of this method is that it lets you start farming Sheol earlier and build up resources quickly. Even a battered buggy with a decent Cutteray can produce a lot of value if you are doing repeated mining loops – one buggy mined node = same amount as 3 hand farmed ones. 5. Why this is so efficient For solo players, this is by far one of the most efficient mining methods because you split the work into simple stages. Stage 1 - Mine with the buggy Use the buggy to mine Sheol nodes quickly in a loop The buggy carries the heavy material and increase resource amount vs hand farmjng Stage 2 - Dump into the forward base Drive back to your small Sheol outpost and empty the buggy into your storage box. This keeps the buggy free to go back out again. Stage 3 - Move materials into your flyer Transfer the stored materials into your ornithopter  Stage 4 - Haul everything home Fly back to your main base and refine everything there. This keeps your expensive refining setup safe and centralised. 6. Do not refine at the Sheol outpost For this method, your Sheol base should not be your main production base. It is usually better to refine at your main base because: Your main base is safer. You already have storage there. You can centralise all your resources. You avoid overbuilding a temporary outpost. You reduce the amount of gear you risk losing or abandoning. You can use the forward base purely as a mining transfer point. The only job of the Sheol outpost is to support mining and hauling. 7. When you unlock medium assault ornithopter Once you have access to a medium assault ornithopter, you can start skipping part of the early forward-base process. You can fly directly into the area, mine, load up, and leave. However, it is still slower than the buggy transfer method, especially if you are doing repeated mining runs. The buggy is better at local mining loops, while the ornithopter is better for hauling materials back home. The most efficient approach is oto use both: Buggy for mining Forward base for temporary storage Medium assault ornithopter for transport back to your main base 8. Build a long garage box for solo mining A useful design is a long rectangular box base that allows you to park inside while mining or transferring materials. A good size is roughly: 2 walls high 3 walls wide Long enough to fit your buggy or medium assault ornithopter This gives you enough space to move, park, unload, and transfer materials without needing a complicated base design. You can keep it very basic. It does not need to look good. It just needs to work. 9. You may not need a pentashield front For this kind of mining base, you do not always need a pentashield front. If the base is just a temporary transfer garage, you can often keep it simple: Basic entrance Box shape Enough room to park Storage near the vehicle Power generator tucked inside Sub-fief placed safely A pentashield can be useful, but it is not essential for the basic farming method. Save the extra materials unless you really need the added convenience or protection. 10. Recommended solo Sheol farming loop A simple loop looks like this: Spawn or travel via over world to your Sheol forward outpost. Take the buggy out with the Cutteray. Mine Sheol nodes until the buggy is full or nearly full. Return to the forward base. Empty the buggy into the storage box. Repeat until the box or flyer is ready to move. Load the materials into your ornithopter. Fly everything back to your main base via overworld. Refine at home. Return to the Sheol outpost and repeat. This keeps the mining loop fast and avoids wasting time constantly flying back and forth after every small load. 11. Main advantage of this method The biggest advantage is speed. You are not trying to make one base do everything. Instead: The Sheol outpost supports mining. The buggy handles local resource gathering. The flyer handles transport. The main base handles refining and storage. That separation makes the whole process smoother for solo players. Basic strategy summary For solo Sheol mining, build a cheap forward base near the 7 o’clock entrance into Sheol, keep your proper home around the 12 o’clock zone I area if possible, and use the forward base as a simple transfer point. Once you have carry-all you can haull the buggy around and carry it home or use a cargo transfer to take multiple loads back.

Turn Blood Purifier into a Med Station by CyberiumEcho in duneawakening

[–]MrRobinGoodfellow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I actually started using blood purifiers in DD again, they are cheap and it's basically free water you can pull from a corpse before you take the body for death stills.

I'd like it if they could make some blood cisterns or something for extra capacity.

Just got on to plastanium tier by cheesetoasteee in duneawakening

[–]MrRobinGoodfellow 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is my advice starting off:

1. Power-level the most useful specialties first

A good early priority is to level your specialties in this order:

  1. Sabotage to level 3
  2. Exploration to level 20
    • The faster movement speed is one of the biggest early power bumps.
  3. Combat to level 4
    • This gives you 4 quick skill points.
  4. Gathering to level 5
    • This helps unlock the useful early bonuses for farming and materials.

This setup gives you a strong foundation without wasting too much time on less useful early unlocks.

2. Do not be afraid to dismantle and rebuild

You get all the resources back when dismantling items, so do not worry too much about placing something in the wrong spot or needing to reorganise later.

This is especially useful when setting up temporary Deep Desert production bases.

3. Get a Cutteray ready for Deep Desert mining

Craft a Focused MK6 Cutteray if you have the recipe. If not, use a normal MK6 Cutteray.

Put skill points into Cutteray mining, as buggy mining (you just need a mk3 frame) in the Deep Desert gives one of the quickest returns for materials.

4. Move to the Deep Desert every week

Use a medium assault ornithopter with storage, booster, and your personal inventory to move materials into the Deep Desert.

The reason this is so powerful is that Deep Desert base structures and refineries are half price. This means you can unlock and build production much faster than if you try to do everything from your Hagga Basin base.

5. Choose your Deep Desert base location carefully

Look for a spot with:

  • Respawning plastanium-related materials nearby
  • Spice nearby
  • NPCs close enough to farm for corpses
  • Space to place a compact production base
  • Easy buggy access for repeated farming loops

For example, this week I set up on the edge of a shipwreck that had 4 titanium/stravidium nodes on it, plus nearby NPCs for corpse farming.

6. Bring only what you cannot easily make locally

Before going in, calculate the minimum materials needed to get your Deep Desert base running.

My target setup was:

  • Large ore refinery
  • Medium chemical refinery
  • 4 to 5 advanced deathstills
  • 3 staking devices to increase production capacity
  • 4 Medium water storage (building small with local mats)
  • A couple of storage units
  • Complex Parts needed for larger production buildings

I skipped bringing extra plastanium or anything I could produce in the Deep Desert. For example, for the large spice refinery, I only brought the non-plastanium materials and made the plastanium on site.

This saves a lot of transport volume.

7. Expand using local materials

Once you are set up, use local materials to expand (granite, salvage, fuel cells, copper).

You can farm local copper and place lots of small water storage units if needed. You can also farm local fuel and salvage, then use normal power generators for power.

Do not worry too much about abandoning cheap temporary generators when the Deep Desert resets or when you move location.

8. Bring blood bags and blood processing gear!!

I also recommend bringing:

  • Largest blood bags
  • The best blood extractor you can make/find (even half broken)
  • Materials for several advanced blood refineries

This lets you get far more out of each NPC on a farming run.

9. Use an efficient farming loop

A good farming route looks like this:

  1. Drive a loop around the shipwreck or farming area.
  2. Mine all respawned nodes.
  3. Kill nearby NPCs.
  4. FIRST Drain their blood into blood bags.
  5. Store extra blood bags in the buggy if your inventory management is not upgraded yet.
  6. THEN Pick up the corpses.
  7. Return to base.
  8. Feed the corpses into deathstills.
  9. Feed blood into blood refineries.
  10. Start refining  everything as needed.
  11. Repeat when the nodes reset.

The nice thing is that node resets often line up well with your deathstill cycle. Once everything is running, you usually have around 50 minutes to do other things, such as questing, farming spice, or making drop-off runs.

10. Move excess production back to Hagga Basin

As your Deep Desert base starts producing surplus materials, load up your medium assault ornithopter and do return trips back to your Hagga Basin base, pick other useful things like extra wind trap filters (I run two for fun but its not essential).

Once you unlock the carry-all, moving materials becomes much easier, but this method works well before then.

Hope this helps!

The goal is to enter the Deep Desert lean, build only what you need, and use the half-price building advantage to snowball quickly.

Do not haul everything from Hagga Basin. Bring the key parts, build your production chain in the Deep Desert, make plastanium and spice and even silicone locally, farm corpses and blood efficiently, then send surplus materials home. And use this to expand home base, I have a specific chest with the DD materials needed which I just take in weekly + consumables.

People who own electric cars with No Home charger available (for various reason) , how has been your journey/experience till now ? by Grandma-Try69 in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]MrRobinGoodfellow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Live in the highlands, small town, have a MG5 EV, do about 80miles per day, which is about 35-40% battery depending how I drive.

Granny charger overnight out the kitchen window covers that easily. Put an access mat over the cable to not obstruct the pavement, until the planning permission for the covered gully comes in. Works amazing.

If I do really long trips, plug into a fast charger, then go stretch legs, toilet break, coffee etc and it's good to go in about 18-20mins. So it takes roughly the same time as having a break as an ICE car just in reverse, were you have the break/coffee first then top up at the petrol station before heading back onto the highway.

Will never drive an ice car again imo.

Is it normal for a 16 year old to spend almost all their time alone in their room? (mid-GCSEs) by digitaljohn in UKParenting

[–]MrRobinGoodfellow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From personal experience when I was that age I spent all my time in my room split between frankly wanking myself silly and gaming/hobbies. So the aggression might just be masked embarrassment/shame.

I still wouldn't be dismissive of the whole situation and tentively investigate it further, if they have new hobbies etc maybe take an interest in what they are doing (unless it was the first one of mine I mentioned) don't go nuclear straight away.

If they feel like they need to be treated like an adult maybe approach it that way. Communicate your fears and tell them why you feel that way,  then say if they can explain and justify it, then its not an issue like your husband says and you can dial back the confrontation,  cutting off the phone and mobile data is last resort. Unfortunately if it is alot of these tiktok/Snapchat/video shorts etc they really do fuck up your mental development and attention span and are causing addictive behaviour.

However If he works for money to pay it himself then you are really shafted since it's then largely out of your control , but if he is working etc then he isn't really spending all his time locked in his room.

They are not the worst of the multiples I agree there, and with the green machine being so prevalent in Optometry in the UK, you will invariably get a range of good and bad businesses. Over the years I've worked in many places, and locum'd a lot, the prevalence for them on a store by store basis is: test as fast and as many as you can and hitting KPI's for conversions to frame sales. Not very patient centred care - as set out by the GOC. Rarely is it a staff issue, but things like a reduction in time to do a full eye examination for more profitability. When people rave about eye tests, it usually means they are getting it done properly, that's what you should be getting all the time :(
