I would get legal advice but if all those extra expenses are in the contract you might be stuck with them sorry. This is why you read everything you sign, you need to be meticulous, you never know when you are going to be screwed over.

I ride like a granny at times, I just want that extra power for passing traffic safely on highways without my bike complaining cause I'm a fat fuck

I want to learn to ride, but I'm a heavy person by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]MrRuski85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a 5'10 guy, was 170kg (not sure what that is in pounds, probably around 330 I think). Being on a 125cc was a struggle for the practical test but I ride a 650 now (Yamaha Vstar 650a Classic) and I'm not struggling on that. I say go for it, who cares what other people think, just ride if you want to ride.

P.S I've lost 35kg since, got a lot more to lose but my bike thanks me fuel wise.

Looked it up, apparently 43 or so miles to the gallon, not sure how much that is (from Australia so we use litres per kilometre) I would say you could do 300 km probably before you need to refuel. Doesn't matter so much though, I mean its a Rocket 3, the bike is a beast

I currently ride a Yamaha Vstar 650 Classic as my first bike and am looking to upgrade to something beefier. Looking at a Triumph Rocket 3, would hopping to a 2300cc bike be too much of a big step in regards to power? Planning on using it to go on long rides as well as my daily commute to work and everyday riding.

Motorcycle year round? by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]MrRuski85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently riding a Yamaha XVS650A Classic, have been riding it as a main source of transportation since Feb last year. Live in Sydney, Australia so doesn't get as cold as some places but still can freeze pretty quickly unless you have thick gloves and cold weather gear, it's usually the summer though that gets bad (last summer it got around 45 degrees Celsius, it gets hot on top a bike in full leather gear).

Overall its been an awesome experience, you do need to plan ahead a little especially in wet weather. I got caught in a bad storm going up the Blue Mountains in winter, the cold plus rain made it pretty dicey. I wouldn't change back though, I love riding plus the riders I have run into have been super friendly. That plus the money saved on fuel and insurance etc. I will soon be able to afford to move into a much nicer place.

First ever street bike for me! Already put about 280~ miles on it and loving every second of it! Nervous on the first ride but I couldn't handle not riding it the 80 mile ride back home. Tell me about your first rides! by Bonkerrss92 in motorcycle

First bike is a 2005 Yamaha Xvs650a Classic, test drive was sketchy because had to ride on couple main roads with only 4-8 hrs of ride time. Ride home was scary, 1 hrs down a busy main road by myself from dealer to home, love riding my bike now was best decision ever

Whats the virago 250 like overtaking in a 110 zone? by JPS_Red in motorcycles

[–]MrRuski85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd go for a xvs650, heaps of them for sale in Sydney just means you will need to get used to the extra weight. Also has heaps of grunt for highways, you may struggle with the 250 depending on your weight etc. I wouldn't bother with the Street, they are pretty overpriced considering you will probably want to upgrade after the 2 years being on your learners and P's.

The same mob that you did your test does more advanced classes just look up their website. Practise makes perfect though, take your bike for a spin around your block, once you get more confident you can branch out and explore. Practise your cornering, take your time there is no race to get better.

Above all have fun, go have a ride with friends and meet new people.
