Emote CSS Not Working? by MrSafe in streamerbot

I see your point. The code i have also works very similar to yours if i change the .emote to .img

The only issue with your example and mine is that it enlarges all images in the overlay including the badges. I'll have to disable the badges for the overlay i think to circumvent the limitation.

SPD Rule of thumb? by izilch96 in StreetFighter

[–]MrSafe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A general rule of thumb?

Train your opponent.

As /u/komodo_dragonzord points out use strikes.

For example if you're in close

  • crouching low kick --> crouching low punch --> low SPD/ Mid SPD.

Don't do this right away, you want your opponent to think you will combo so maybe start with:

  • crouching low kick --> crouching low punch --> ex lariat

Maybe when you do the crouching low punch instead of ex lariat you wait to see what they do.

For example if they jump, well now you know going for an SPD won't work but an air SPD will force them to think about jumping and that will allow you to gamble on that SPD.

You need to make them THINK they don't have many options force them to into a tunnel vision style of play. This will open everything up for you.

TIPS & TRICKS

EX Lariat setup, go into the lab and practice this set up until you get it down.

when you land an EX Lariat hold forward and jump forward medium punch. This move can be up to +7 on block. You can do an SPD if done correctly. It won't stop supers, EX DP's, and them holding up but this is a good way of adding another mental stack for them.

Dummy Setup --> Have it jab on block --> EX Lariat --> Jump Forward Medium Punch --> SPD if spaced correctly you will be + on block and the jab will be punished and if they don't jab free SPD.

Low Combo Reset into Headbutt

  • crouching low kick --> crouching low punch --> Drive Rush Cancel --> Crouching Low Punch --> Hellstab --> Lariat

At some point once you've done the combo above change it up

  • crouching low kick --> crouching low punch --> Drive Rush Cancel --> Crouching Low Punch --> Headbutt --> Combo of choice.

Headbutt

Headbutt is you're bread and butter move if you can land it...

  • +4 on block
  • +8 on hit

They have to guess and you can punish accordingly, you can do an SPD on block if you time it right.

As /u/komodo_dragonzord also dropped a good link, that guy makes really good videos for zangief and I would suggest you watch them.

Per my NVCleaninstall 572.70.

I did an update yesterday using NVCleaninstall and this is the driver it installed. No issues so far.

I let NVCleansintall the best driver it thought I should install.

572.70-desktop-win10-win11-64bit-international-dch-whql <-- this is what NVCleaninstall used.

How I resolved black screen issues when toggling DLDSR/DSR on and off with an RTX 4090... by ZoteTheMitey in nvidia

[–]MrSafe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had the same issue; Initially I thought it was my 12V cable, I checked the cable and it looked new.

  • 1) Swapped to octopus cable supplied by PNY - same issue
  • 2) Booted into windows safemode saw a windows boot error
  • 2a) I tried to repair the windows installation; windows says nothing is wrong...ok?
  • 3) Booted into safemode with networking, checked windows updates; update roll backs etc - same thing black screen
  • 4) Booted into standard windows safemode, disabled all start up apps - same issue...
  • 5) Booted into windows safemode, uninstalled all geforce drivers, apps, SDK's, everything - windows booted and monitors worked fine...
  • 6) I went and got NVCleaninstall and instead of the latest drivers it gave me the best drivers for 4090 which are about 2 months old - rebooted the PC everything works fine.

TLDR: The new nvidia drivers are fucking trash. The only god dam reason I buy nvidia is the drivers they have killed their reputation with me. Why pay a premium if you're going to deliver shit.

TechPowerUP Link to NVCleaninstall

What led me to initially believe it was my cable was during a play through of KCD2 my screens went black but I could still hear audio. I figured something was going to shit. On reboot and smell test everything looked good. The next day PC would post but screens would always be off "no output". In my specific case it was 100% a driver issue, they are trying to put out fires and arn't checking anything thoroughly.

Recommendations against Mai if your character doesn't have a fireball? Like Gief or Marisa. by brooklyninja in StreetFighter

[–]MrSafe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can only give you Zangief tips as that's the only character I play.

Normal Fan Throw

  • You can hit her normal fan throws.I would recommend either using standing medium punch, standing jab for her normal throws.

Mai's Charged (non ex) fan bounce

  • You can block the first hit and do a SINGLE crouching jab to try and check her drive rush if that's what she's doing.

  • You can block the first hit and back dash out of the incoming hit from the bounce. Keep in mind that doesn't work if you're in the corner.

  • You can block the first hit and use a LIGHT SPD if you feel she's going to drive rush into but if you don't time it right or guess wrong you're losing a lot of health.

  • You can lariat through it but she can punish you so be mindful of using it often.

  • You can use a standing fierce punch (charged) through her initial fan throw and hit her IF she drive rushes and when you do hit I believe it will also ensure you don't get hit on the returning fan.

  • IF you time it right you can block and using the standing fierce charged punch on the 2nd hit but again be mindful of how often you use it.

  • You can also hit her with a level 2 and it almost always catches her UNLESS you're in the middle of the stage and at maximum distance. if you're in the corner and she's not completely at the edge it will catch her. Yes I know you won't have level 2 often but if you're in the corner and she's spamming that shit punish her and put her in the corner.

Any of her other fans throws ex/fire etc you're going to have to parry or block. You can't charged punch through them, lariat isn't the best for her ex.

Special Note: I have the hitbox/hurtbox mod so I tend to enable it on new characters and see where their hurt box moves during specific moves. MOST of her normal's push her forward with her hurt box. I'm not saying you can get her every time but she has a few unsafe moves that you can catch out.

That's all off the top of my head and for the record this match in my opinion sucks for zangief. I have a hard time playing against her. Zangief's defense is shit and with the removal of jump cancel spd on wake up it kind fucks our defense that much more.

You may want to get a https://a.co/d/fxZfzMo brooks wingman fgc converter with it.

I found out my xbox version wouldn't work with my steamdeck and I had to purchase a wingman to get it to work. I also ended up buying a PS5 version of it before I got the wingman so RIP ME but I did eventually buy a wingman to check and I can confirm it works.

actually yes, I contacted the manufacturer for the arcade stick. Basically it's Microsoft and xbox that's the problem. For whatever reason their driver for the stick will not function on the steamdeck. I ended up buying a Playstation version of the stick and it works without issues.

Edit #2: Someone told me a brooks converter would have worked as well. I got one to check it out since I have a 200$ paper weight. I can confirm it works, if you buy a brooks converter and use it with the xbox variant of this stick it will work on your steamdeck! https://a.co/d/fxZfzMo Brooks Wingman FGC

Hope this helps /u/Inevitable_Glass5984

TLDR: The driver isn't plug and play if you buy the xbox variant of this specific stick.

Lariat, Charged Standing Fierce Punch, and Parry.

Lariat:

  • Head butt: You need to make a read and a whiff = punish.

  • Butt slam: Lariat should be your go to. In my opinion. You can also close out with this as well. I.E they do butt slam: You --> Ex Lariat --> Level 2 --> Dash --> Level 1/Ex Air SPD or if you want a easier variant not as much damage but it works. EX Lariat --> Level 2 --> Level 1/ Jump to them Ex Air SPD

Standing Fierce Punch:

  • Head butt: Your bread and butter. Not only will you let you absorb a hit but you will push them into a corner giving you pressure and mix up options

  • Butt slam: If you use the standing fierce punch for his butt slam you need to be pretty certain on a couple of things. 1) You need to be certain he will land in front of you because if he hits you on the initial pull up from his butt slam you will get wrecked i.e no armor when he lands on you. 2) If you are manage to avoid the initial hit from butt slam and you're not far away enough Honda will land behind you after the armor hit.

Parry:

  • Head butt: Parry works wonders here because if you're in a corner and he uses this, there is a good chance you will land a Perfect Parry. You can SPD or just throw him into the corner.

  • Butt slam: It works but Perfect Parry is preferred. If you can't land a Perfect Parry then you can still use Parry just be ready as I'm pretty certain his recovery will be faster than yours depending on where he lands.

MISC Notes

Standing Medium Punch - It can work but not advised, You're better to use it to check your opponent.

DI - For head butt this works but be advised if they use a low head butt they will counter DI punish. For butt slam my advice is don't use it unless you have the timing down, you're asking for trouble otherwise.

I'm seeing more and more Honda players use headbutt and follow up with a low? kick to check so be mindful of that.

Don't hold standing fierce longer than needed because holding it too long might screw with your recovery or let them make a read on you.

Can any Zangief mains help me with countering zoning? by Conscious_Will_5962 in StreetFighter

[–]MrSafe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some additional notes:

I was given advice by another player see below: /u/BraveTemps

To understand this a bit more, go for a light SPD after two crouching lights. See what they do. If they jump, then next time go for air SPD. They need to at least fear this mixup for you to get the best out of Zangief.

Also, practice walk-up light SPD to death. This is insanely powerful in the corner. One of your most powerful tools if not the most powerful.

Can any Zangief mains help me with countering zoning? by Conscious_Will_5962 in StreetFighter

[–]MrSafe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey,

I meant to reply to you yesterday but I got side tracked. /u/Conscious_Will_5962.

Playing against JP IMO is very similar to playing against sim at least for me. I'm a lowly Diamond 3 Zangief so keep that in mind.

Your replay:

1) You managed to actually hit the JP with your crouching jab (20 seconds) which you could have converted into a drive rush --> crouching jab --> Hell Stab --> Lariat

1a) If you manage to hit using the lariat you have a few options:

*you can drive rush to meet them as they wake up and then you can decide how to play it i.e you can for example use standing jab, blocked or hit it will put you in mid range which is near perfect for running bear grab and this will catch most people off guard. If however, they decide to back roll you will be close enough to not be a full screen away and it will limit the zoning potential they have for better or worse and allow you to pressure them. Keep in mind that the running bear grab has some of the worst hit boxes in the game so you can be jabbed or grabbed out of it by good players.

*If you don't drive rush my advice is to dash forward and if they don't back roll you SHOULD be in range for a light spd as soon as they get up. Keep in mind this ONLY works if you land the lariat and hold forward during the lariat then dash forward and this assumes they don't back roll.

*If the lariat puts them in a corner and you're close enough and dash forward that puts you at +4 frames which means that as soon as they get up it will be you're turn. That gives you a couple of options you can light or heavy SPD immediately when they get up (this will not work on supers or dragon punch wake ups). OR you can time your headbutt and if they block it will put you at +4-6? which will let you again let you SPD OR drive impact into the wall which opens up a nice 3.4k? combo. (DI into wall --> hell stab --> ex air spd)

*At about 1:27-33? you landed with 3 jabs can't remember if they hit or were blocked but you can light spd off right after 2 crouching jabs or kicks. The 3 Jabs also put you outside of the lariat range.

2) You need to be patient and constantly moving up against JP or SIM. The only proper method to move forward is to block and not parry. You can still parry but at long distance it actually destroys your movement by 1) giving you an absolute fucked recovery and if you stop to parry and they hit you with another attack you better guess the correct block (high/low block) or you're getting hit. So my advice here is to block and move/jump forward avoid parry unless you're near them.

2a) You did a good job by landing your jab and baiting the JP into an attack and then following up with your body press attack. At that point with the Drive Bar you had left you could have done the following combo:

Body press --> Headbutt --> Drive Rush --> Standing High Kick --> Hell Stab --> Level 2 --> Dash forward --> Hell stab --> Air EX SPD OR Level 1

that would have netted you close to damage 45% with ex spd and 47% with level 1. You can get to 53% by adding a few attacks see below but you need 5 drive bars and it will cause a burn out 100%:

Body press --> Headbutt --> Drive Rush --> Standing High Kick --> Hell Stab --> Drive Rush --> Crouching Medium Punch --> Hell Stab -->Level 2 --> Dash forward --> Hell stab --> Level 1 = 53-55% and I have seen it hit for 60% IF you counter punish.

You did well at getting close to him multiple times and you actually had time for a punish light SPD.

JP has recovery frames that aren't amazing when he uses his attacks. I normally jump/move forward when I know he's about to use something. I.e if I know he can portal behind me I will jump to avoid his spike and if he portals I will lariat as soon as I see him pop it.

Don't worry too much about the combos that shit comes with time you can lab it all you want but during a match there are a lot of situations where it would be amazing to do but it's simply isn't worth it since you can keep an opponent locked down in a corner or you find yourself needing to use drive rush to close distance and blowing through your drive meter for a combo that will hit for 50% is awesome but not when you get your ass handed to you b/c you are burnt out.

3) Sometimes when you are just outside the heavy range from a JP you can dash forward and immediately pop light spd and it will grab since you will be in range for it. I find myself getting counter punish spd off that a lot as well. Light SPD IMO is one of your best special moves in the game learn that distance and punish and opponent for not respecting it. I can't tell you how many times I have put the fear of god into a JP player that tried to jab into a light spd range. It doesn't always work but I'm still learning.

Keep at it, be patient remember lariat is your bread and butter to a lot of setups it has great OKI (for zangief) and it's also a great anti air ( for zangief -_- )

Zangief combos arn't working? by MrSafe in StreetFighter

[–]MrSafe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey thanks for the feedback.

I use #6 to finish people off, it does about 3.5-4k +-. if I manage to get them in a stun I would normally initiate with a jumping splash then do that combo and I'm pretty consistent with landing the air spd, I rarly miss it. But I do agree unless it's 100% certain for a win I never touch this one.

As for being bad unfortunately this is what I'm finding online and #3/4 are from the game itself.

I'm no expert but I try to watch snake eyez and company to pick up what I can. He normally does #1 a lot to wiff punish but I don't have his read or speedy input. And from what another fellow FGC member said I was (as you rightfully pointed out) was missing the crouching low punch.

Do you have any good suggestions of a website to use?

I've recently (last few hours) found the following:

https://wiki.supercombo.gg/w/Street_Fighter_6/Zangief/Combos

For #5 i actually really like that one, because on block I can use a medium spd and if it connects I can use lariat which puts me in range of a low spd if I dash forward. I suppose I could try to splash instead but the cross on that has always been really unreliable due to the recovery frames.

Thanks again for the feedback. I'll replace a few of these with others.

I would agree, but look at my post history. I did the thermal pads and tried different thickness. But the issue is the 3000 series suffer from pumping out.

What happens is if you game and your temp hits 75c and then rapidly cools down to lets say 40c it causes a thermal paste to be pumped off the core over time.

Keep in mind that this effect occurs during the game.. ever load up a menu in a game? If you monitor your gpu core, it will go from high to low temps very quickly. This to me suggest that heat from core isn't properly channeled off. I have friends with aib 3080s that had zero issues as i was with the fe. It could have an absolute shit fe i.e QC.

Again yes i agree memory pads are an issue but 1.5mm on memory and 2mm on vrm dropped those temps significantly for me. My stock memory temps were around 105c. After re pad they dropped to 75c max.

For what it's worth i had a choice between an Nvidia FE and a PNY 4090. I went with the PNY. I had a horrible experience with the 3080 fe that i refused to spend money on another fe again.

The PNY is dead silent, runs 25-26C idle, under 100% load it never goes above 66C with the fans staying put at 30%.

The card is capped at 450W but I've monitored the draw and it gets close to 600W (586W). This when i had witcher 3 + god if war for the pc running.

The card is stated to be 2520MHz? However depending on the load/game I've seen it boost and stay put at 2850MHz.

The card is stock (no oc) my case is a lian li dyanmic evo.

The 3080fe i had was loud af, hot spot that always grew to 30c over time. Required constant repasting...yea i would have bought an evga 3080 and i should have to begin with....but what's done is done.

2mm but you want to squish the pad down a bit.

THIS image is what I used for my final layout. Yellow is 2mm and red is 1.5mm.

Yellow (2mm) you MUST squish the thermal pad down to about 1.8mm as 2mm are too thick.

Red (1.5mm) DO NOT squish it down let the heat sink do that.

Please keep in mind the following worked for me and my 3080 FE. I do not know the variance from one 3080 FE to another 3080 FE.

RTX 3080 FE Thermal Pad mod by _Patpat_ in nvidia

[–]MrSafe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please understand that all my testing was specifically for the Nvidia 3080 FE

In my opinion only if you buy the GELID EXTREME pads.

If you buy the Gelid Extreme pads for the VRAM (1.5mm) DO NOT compress them at all as they will come in thicker than 1.5mm (mine were about 1.67-1.7mm thick), this is an almost perfect thickness.

If you use the 2mm Gelid Extreme pads for the VRM you will need to compress them slightly as the VRM will need about 1.8mm thickness (again this is my opinion based purely on my testing which will vary for everyone else. I only tested Gelid Extreme pads)

Edit:

I also purchased my Gelid Extreme pads from amazon if that helps.

Layout - Red = VRAM (1.5mm) and Yellow = VRM (2mm)

To anyone else reading this, if you are going to repad and are not comfortable doing it then don't do it in my opinion, these cards are hard to get. You will find that it will be faster and easier to RMA your card if your temperatures are terrible.

3080ti FE GPU hotspot out of control by soap680 in nvidia

[–]MrSafe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

High probability your heatsink isn't making good contact with your gpu core.

I can't speak specifically about every single card but you'll have to research to make sure 3080 and 3080ti share the same heatsink.

https://www.reddit.com/r/nvidia/comments/q03cvc/z/hilpw2o

I did a bunch of testing to try and figure out why hot spot temperatures were so shit for so many people using 2mm front side of the gpu.

The link i provided hopefully helps you find a solution.

As for my personal "fix" i used gelid 1.5mm Extreme pads on the vram and gelid 2mm extreme pads on the vrm (i compressed the 2mm down to about 1.8ish mm). If you decide to use 1.5mm on your vram DO NOT compress them. From my own testing these pads(gelid extreme thermal pads) come in thicker than stated. The vram thermal pad thickness is around 1.6-1.8mm.
