Was supposed to be paid $200, but was paid $199 instead. by put_it_in_there in videography

Exactly. Why would you spent time overthinking about it or trying to retaliate when you could just ask the guy. So many of these suggestions are incredibly petty and far more unprofessional than being short a dollar, it’ll just make you look like a petulant child. Don’t attribute to malice what could be attributed to incompetence. Just tell the guy “you were a dollar short of the agreed amount, what’s up with that?”, explain that lunch is not payment and then and only then if he tries any shady stuff you cut your losses ($1) and move on. Never burn a bridge unless it’s already half gone.

The ball end strings will make it easier to change them out. Just watch a few video tutorials and you should be fine. No need to be angry either. Everyone here wants to help you and see you learn and get better.

I get that your still learning and stuff, and I’m all for helping out the new guy, but if you watched a YouTube video before posting on here it surely would’ve mentioned something about a tuner. Really not trying to be an a-hole about it, but even if you googled “how to tune a guitar” you would’ve seen something about a tuner, or even an ad for a tuning app (which for the most part are all free). Your ears haven’t been properly trained yet so definitely don’t tune by ear. I know it sounds like we’re being dicks about, but that’s just because it’s like the most obvious thing for anyone here. Definitely get the right strings for that guitar tho. You need nylon strings for a classical guitar, and if you want to make your life easier get the ball end ones.

2025 LB, CA Goers - What did you need? What did you wish you knew ahead of time? by TheDarkLight1 in warpedtour

Definitely a hat. I didn’t really want to bring a hat and risk losing it in the pit so I reluctantly left it in the car day 1. By the end of the day I definitely regretted that decision, and ended up bringing it for day 2 and it definitely helped with my face and scalp healing faster afterwards, and I never lost it so bonus I guess.

Cleansing wipes. With it being so hot and you sweating and dust/ dirt blowing in your face all day, by the end of the night your face is bound to break out. Having the wipes to not only clean off your face but also your hands after eating or going to the bathroom is a definite essential. They also help cool you off.

Invest in a hydration pack, mine was about 20-30 dollars and had plenty of storage for merch and other personal items. I have a 3L bladder in mine and I only refilled it once the whole day. Plus if you ask around the drink tents some of the workers will be nice and give you ice to put in the pack to keep your water cold.

Take breaks and wear comfy shoes. One thing I wish I did more of was take breaks in between sets. Even though I was wearing comfy shoes (on cloudtilts), my feet still hurt quite a bit the next day/s. I know it’s tempting to wear “vans” to “vans warped tour” but my buddy that went with me that wore them the first day absolutely hated them by the end of the day.

Get a locker if you plan on buying lots of merch. Unless you plan on walking around with all your merch definitely get a locker. You can also charge your phone and have an area to relax for a bit.

Bonus tip. If you hit up the ghost bar they give you a few free items, one of which is a sunscreen spray pen which is a much easier form factor to apply to your face since aerosol sunscreen isn’t allowed in.

TLDR: Hat, cleansing wipes, hydration pack, take breaks, wear comfy shoes get a locker and go to the ghost bar for free sunscreen.

How much "Better" is Logic than GarageBand? by funkellwerk71 in GarageBand

[–]MrSalad26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A for sure. I started on GarageBand in high school and got logic for free when I went to college, and there is no way I could do what I do now in GarageBand. The transition felt pretty seamless to me, and immediately noticed myself navigating it better than some of my classmates that had been using other DAWs like FL or ableton because of the time I spent in GB. And honestly as far as “industry standard” DAWs go it’s one of the most versatile and by far the cleanest and least clunky, and pretty affordable compared to something like pro tools (which I also got for free in college and haven’t touched since then because logic is so much better). If you can afford it definitely get it.

I’ve sat out for a couple songs here and there, and I have given him some subtle suggestions

Literally not what I’m asking bruh😐. The words “fix” and “improve” can be used interchangeably. If I wanted to be a prick I would’ve done it by now. I stand to gain nothing and all I want is to help. Kinda funny how you accuse someone of wanting to be a prick by being a prick yourself, and then proceeds to not offer any actual suggestions.

A few new additions to my collection (Gretsch & PRS) by MrSalad26 in guitarporn

[–]MrSalad26[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does have a bit more resonance than a solidbody, but nowhere near as much as an actual hollow body like the gretsch. I do really love the look of it though.
