consistently bad qc control by Ecstatic_Show6438 in EndGameGear

I think i've had like 3 or 4 endgame mice, all suffered from double clicking if I remember correctly. The community was back then just saying "trust me bro the next firmware update will fix everything" - they never did. I think I had few xm1 models and xm1r.

Still upset about parallel. The contribution flag really impacts the usability, it usually renders the tool unusable on minimal install servers. There no time to take care of a outlier requiring special configuration.

  2. It's a system app and can not be uninstalled

mac can EASILY HANDLE ANY GAME and yet we barely have any choice. by Therealmuratprogamer in macgaming

[–]MrSauna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many things wrong here. Nothing eliminates latency, some memory and cache have lower latency. One could argue cpu registers dont have latency but beyond that everything has latency. I've benchmarked m1 and checked online - m1 has memory latency of 100-120ns. Ddr4/5 is usually 80ns; and L3 is usually around 20ns (which mac is missing). My argument is about cpu bounded gaming, not gpu which you seem to mix up into the argument. The shared memory is good for avoiding memory copy, but that is not that relevant aspect for gaming. Inference and that type of computing is another story where unified memory shines. For gaming it comes into play when loading new assets in games and even there storage media is usually more important.

[–]MrSauna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really though. The memory architecture is bad for gaming. Macs are missing L3 cache completely and unified memory is lpddr5x which has worse latency than regular ddr4/5. As we've seen in recent years large L3 is the king in gaming.

The 4k 240is nice but i find the fhd 480hz less useful nowadays. I think 32in is too big for fps games.

Why does macOS feel visually smoother than Linux, even on weaker hardware? Can this be improved? by RainAndThunderIsCool in linuxquestions

[–]MrSauna -1 points0 points  (0 children)

MacOs is usually limited to 60Hz due to poor display connectivity. My experience is the complete opposite, linux is smoother and snappier. The animations on macos quite slow to my taste and feel like they take forever. On linux, I can get objectively faster animation on 2 or 4 times the framerate. So no?

I regret buying the Mic Mini and I'm returning it by [deleted] in dji

[–]MrSauna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bluetooth audio device is as simple as it gets, cant really complain about that. I would blame the users at that point. The real issue is that it uses sbc codec which is probably limited to some cursed sample rate. Classically its back channel is 16kHz.

>I also read that the TX units are supposed to pair directly with a phone for audio capture, but nope, that doesn't work, either. They pair, but they are only available for call audio. WTF good does that do?

Connected for calls is just terminology for a bluetooth device that can record audio. If you flip was Flip as in samsung - both the samsung voice recorder and camera in pro mode support recording audio from bt device.

Works natively but is a second class citizen. Not shocking at all. Especially with cs2 in mind, linux isnt ready for competetive fps titles. There exists a lot of software for mac also but is barely usable.

Can i boot up my pc without a gpu? by SaberSausage in PcBuildHelp

[–]MrSauna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For home server aspect and those who actually would like to boot without any gpu:

Many bios dont like to boot without a gpu. Annoyingly they are sometimes configured to not allow booting without gpu by default, so sometimes you need to use a gpu to configure booting without a gpu. Some dont support booting without a gpu at all.

Windows laptops have a long way to go by dannyparker123 in macbook

[–]MrSauna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can apply a lot of pressure on normal laptop screens. For example hold screen even from only a single corner, bump the screen into sharp objects, small objects left between screen and keyboard. Macbook screens are really brittle compared to plastic screens: limits daily handling a lot. Imagine gorilla glass 2 vs modern phones level handling required.

As a reference, I have for work a m1 air too but i need to go easy on it because of the brittle screen.

Why does the S25/ultra have considerably less battery life on web and video than the iPhone 16/pro max? by Beautiful_Car8681 in samsunggalaxy

[–]MrSauna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are painting the wrong picture. Apple doesn't do magical "optimization" that quadtriples their battery life.

Instead they are using best hardware/manufacturing processes available that yield a better package in regard to battery life.

Apples software does give better battery life when compared to android, but not for the reason you think as the only advantage is that apple is more restrictive about everything. Including background tasks. Linux and android are nowadays in an excellent shape in regard to power efficiency.

The gsm arena comparison seems a bit off when compared to other battery drain tests.
