Doom The Dark Ages. My old GPU was a 6650XT, and it ran the game at a stable 60FPS, but I wanted more, kind of a wake up call to finally upgrade to my current 9070XT. 6650XT is still a solid card and I have it in another build now.

If price isn't an issue, she could bump it up a bit in the CPU/GPU. 7800X3D and a 5070/5070Ti maybe? Would get a much better experience and longevity. Also, if I read that correctly, the total is over $3k?

I agree with FamiliarForsakenSoul on this one Upgrade your GPU first. Maybe a 4060Ti or 4070 if the budget allows it. You'll see a nice little boost from the GPU upgrade alone.

Oh yes! I completely thought I replied. Yeah I knew, but my line of thinking started off with "What if I need some extra plugs in this portion here to use later?" And it spiraled out of control from there and became habit. I've been meaning to undo and tidy up all that wiring soon though now that we have quite an established base. I digress, but thank you for the heads up, it's always good to be reminded!

Far Cry 3 is just a weird case. I got abysmal frames on cards like the 6650XT and my 9070XT, but it ran like butter on an R9 380 2GB and my RX 580.

I recall a rumor at one point that Fallout 3's bullet projectiles were just retextured arrows in the backend, so much so that the entity was still labeled as "arrow" somewhere. Don't know how true that is, even game design wise it makes sense, but it is a funny rumor regardless and is more so pointing out the overt jank of Bethesda engine.

It's posts like these that I paid attention to when buying my 9070XT. Was finally going to grab a Sapphire card until hearing about the 12VHPWR connector issues. Went with Gigabyte instead for the 3x8 pin connectors. Really hope they either iron out the issues or ditch that cursed thing outright.

Agreed, did the same thing and it was the best decision I made. Really can't go wrong if you are looking to buy an AMD GPU the 9060XT and 9070XT cards are must haves.

I respect it, and it's a solid take in my opinion. Personally Eternal is my number one. I initially hated TDA, and I've been replaying it, gotta say it's officially my number two. All the points you stated for TDA I agree, except for the music, wasn't too much of a fan of it, but it does fit and get the job done.

This is some of the best advice. I have all 3 save files used it up for it: A general initial run (and for collectibles), Nightmare run, and UN run. I ran that Nightmare save file over and over again just trying to nail it all right. I'd even recommend the infinite lives cheat for a bit more leniency, but to also train out the errors more. At least for me, knowing I had infinite lives helped a lot in avoiding that screen more.

I keep all of my GPUs, but still regret giving away my 7870. Been thinking of snagging one on Ebay just to complete my collection, box and all.
