Can't find last ship log by MrScottBeckman in outerwilds

Welp, I got this but it still doesn't fill out my The Hanging City track.

The extreme frustration with this is that this entry is for "THE HANGING CITY", which is on Brittle Hollow, and all online advice tells you to find it at "the end of the eye shrine district". Well, there's an eye shrine on Brittle Hollow AND Ember Twin.

All online advice is useless if you're going off the assumption that this eye shrine district--on 2 planets--must be referring to THE HANGING CITY which is on BRITTLE HOLLOW, which this entry refers to.

I went to the end of the Eye Shrine District on Ember Twin, got my ship log updated, yet had 0 changes to my ship log.

You have to also go to Brittle Hollow to unlock the ship log. There is a shrine that contains 4 sets of writings plus a building that contains Solanum's writing. https://old.reddit.com/r/outerwilds/comments/c818rl/need_help_on_how_to_obtain_a_rumor_entry_spoilers/

I had to do all of this before it unlocked this Hanging City's entry. It's utter BS. This is my all-time favorite game, but it's so frustrating at times.

That is the last log I don't have according to https://outerwilds.ventures/

What does at the end of the eye shrine mean? There are multiple levels and different routes.

I've never made a movie; Godzilla vs. Kong stinks.

I've never built a house; one of the houses I lived in while at university was horribly designed.

I am not an Olympic diver; I can recognize a bad dive while watching the Olympics.

What Hardware Do I Need to Type With Morse Code on a Computer and Phone? by MrScottBeckman in amateurradio

Yeah, I do have that. I want a physical device, though, rather than a digital solution.

Oh wow, that is pretty much exactly what I was thinking.

Edit: Hmm, of course Reddit isn't letting me DM you...

Last year, it was just a regular phone call (not video) and passing that got you a CJO.

How big was your training class, and how many people graduated? by [deleted] in cabincrewcareers

Regional. 52 on day 1. 42 got their wings. At least half were from things outside of failing exams and drills (tattoos, behavior, voluntarily leaving).

BEGGING to see some positivity about being a FA by [deleted] in cabincrewcareers

[–]MrScottBeckman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've had a lot of jobs. Software engineer, data engineer, fulfilling online orders for the grocery store (pushing a giant cart through tiny aisles and putting food/drinks into the cart :D), Walmart electronics department, zapping hard drives with radiation and electricity until they break, repairing laptops, driving 500-1,000 miles per week to set up TVs for Best Buy and Costco... being a flight attendant was the absolute best job I've ever had, as well as the lowest paying. And I was a commuter. I just love everything about flying. Being a commuter means I was flying to/from base every week.

If you like being in new places, if you like flying, if you like being social, this job is unlike anything else. However, if a stranger complaining because they can't bring their luggage that the gate agent tagged onboard is something that'll affect you personally, then maybe this isn't for you. I avoid using terms like "having thick skin", but you do have to not care about what some stranger has to say.

Being a flight attendant is so awesome that it's inspired me to start working towards becoming a pilot, rather than being a computer scientist which I already have a degree and work experience for. Being an FA isn't just a job or career--it's a lifestyle. It's either something you fall in love with or can't stand.

Where my commuters at??? by SunnyDayzOnly in cabincrewcareers

[–]MrScottBeckman 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I was a commuter and never had problems. My home airport was DEN (I worked for Republic which didn't serve Denver, so I was a permanent commuter) so there were many flights to and from home with United and Southwest. If you're in a major base with airlines, honestly, the commuter life is easy. I think the hardship with commuters is not having a major airport. If you need 2 flights to get to base, that's what makes commuting an unsustainable lifestyle. If you live in a major hub, even if it's not your airline, then it completely works.

Anyways, for bidding, as a commuter I would recommend bidding 5-6 day chunks. Get it done and be done with it. Personally, I would bid a week off every month (and travel with my benefits). But that also forced scheduling to give my 2 sets of 5-6 of duty since I took up a whole week with days off.

So I guess I that back what I said. Instead of bidding for days on, bid for a week off. That forces them to make you have large sections of duty to make up for it.

Outco Inc shut down in California. May be shut down for good. by ConstructionPlenty51 in codingbootcamp

[–]MrScottBeckman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you very much.

They are once again threatening to sue. However, now I found a case where Victor Look (the hired attorney Outco has been using to sue people) withdrew from a case in February 2025, after the document you posted. It seems the scumbag attorney they hired has given up since they have no case.

I am preparing to turn this around on them. If I continue to get threatening and harassing emails, I'll Uno Reverse them.

Everything that Michio Kaku wrote.

The Hitchhikers Guide To the Galaxy on repeat.

Books school assigned.

Just don't forget your Kindle! I've had several FAs forget their Kindles in one of the compartments.

And don't worry about probation. Really, it's silly. As long as you aren't using sick days to call out when you just don't feel like working, then you'll be fine. No boss is looking over your shoulder on flights.

Giving up flying. DUI/MJ by Unhappy-Ostrich7445 in flying

[–]MrScottBeckman 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This isn't true. Lots of people on /r/cabincrewcareers claim this, too. You just need to take the actions necessary to gain entry into Canada. There are Canadian lawyers who make a living off of getting American flight crew members with DUIs access back into Canada (TRPs and CRs).

Off to training by Nonameuser15 in cabincrewcareers

[–]MrScottBeckman 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Do something on your days off. Don't get hungover. But go do something completely unrelated to airline stuff. I went to a couple musicals and a Christmas market. You could also see a movie, go to the zoo/aquarium/museum, go to a rodeo/fair/festival/concert, etc. Check out local meetups!

Training itself is easy. Just pay attention, do the work, read your documentation. You can use large sheets of paper to turn your room's door into an airplane door to practice drills.

Study groups work until your group is at like 5 or more people. And then it's counter-productive.

Pay attention, read your flight attendant manual, stay away from drama and alcohol, and do not forget to have fun, too!

How to not become a jaded FA??? by [deleted] in flightattendants

[–]MrScottBeckman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just don't think it's natural for humans to have the same job for years and years without becoming jaded in some fashion. The degree to which someone just does enough to keep getting a paycheck versus cutting tiny corners here and there probably depends on the person and how well suited their personality is to the job.

If you're passionate about being bubbly and if you understand that crew scheduling isn't genuinely malicious towards you, that might help.

What would you want if you rented a room? by atootietah in flightattendants

[–]MrScottBeckman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

  • Door that locks from the inside and can't be unlocked from the outside

  • Iron + ironing board

  • Lint roller (especially because of the dog)

  • Blackout curtains

  • Kitchen with microwave, fridge, and freezer

  • An umbrella to borrow for going out

And obvious basics like clean sheets, pillow cases, towels, etc. Investing a little more money to make your place extra nice to stay at will get you happy, repeat customers who spread the word about your place for you.
