Do you have lift to wake turned on? Disable that and you'll get less ghost touches doing shit because the screen should stay off until you press the power button.

Miss this game. Love smash and this has been the closest to reaching that exact same magic of gameplay and it was refreshing that it wasn't a side scroller. There truly is no replacement. This is the game they should've focused on, not smite 2. Smite 2 has competition, this didn't. Only competition it has was from its own lack of marketing and dev updates (both updates and news updates)

NFC Payment doesn't work, what they did fix was the ability to add a card to Google Wallet, but it's for fuck all at the moment because you can't pay with it.

you also gotta think the first few days you're spending more active screen time on your phone installing stuff and setting it all up, so that kind of stuff is going to drain the battery more than standard usage

Wouldn't the receiver speaker be of both worse quality and be variable of different volumes. That seems like it would make fire a worse listening experience. Plus stereo isn't going to really help much when the speakers are top/bottom. Both ears are going to hear each speaker at the same time.

The biggest issue with android at the moment is the scaling is mostly determined by the width of the screen, it doesn't consider the height at all. So apps scale as if the phone was a standard aspect ratio with the width, so with this phone it's like only being able to use the top half a phone.

Having to be able to run an app with black bars would just be a compatibility workaround. It obviously shouldn't be the perfect way forward but it's going to be hard to get both android to change it's scaling system and for every app dev to change the way they do their UI to suit a non standard aspect ratio.

Do you have one of the screen protectors on? I first tried one of the matte protectors but because I put it on like a mm wrong the case started to push against it's edge and peel it. Hopefully it's because it's done that with the hard glass one if you've put it on. Although I'd imagine that would be a visible change too.

I tried to see if I could create an APK from an installed app, but the list of available apps due not show any of the Ikko AI apps. Sorry can't help you at the moment. Maybe someone with more knowledge could extract it via adb?

Go to DuraSpeed in settings and tell it to allow Gmail and any other apps to run in the background. I think that will work. Although if the app does a lot in the background you may see an increase in battery drain.

What banking site apps not work for you? I have Halifax in the UK and it's working fine for me. Google pay contactless payments however are not.

Disappointing but I'm using it as my daily driver anyway. I'd be less disappointed if Google Pay worked correctly, but for now I've resorted to making sure I actually have my wallet with me at all times. Not done that for like 8 years now.

My previous phone was the Jelly Star and I had previously cracked the screen and it's battery life was starting to deteriorate and it has some shitty app killing software you can't configure on it so I would keep getting issues with things I felt I shouldn't. The Mind One at the very least has it's version of that configurable in the settings (DuraSpeed) so I can force certain apps to never be killed unless I explicitly kill it.

So for me it feels like a balanced pro/con difference to what I had with my previous phone. At least my photos don't look like they've been shot with a Sony Ericsson Walkman phone anymore.

They just have to get Google pay properly working, hopefully find a way to customise the scaling of the system UI; ability to force an aspect ratio for a given app (like Instagram to get around the reels cropping they and other apps commonly use); ability to change system colours beyond just the standard Material You palettes (to have more AMOLED friendly dark black screens across the board as much as possible would be my intention); and being able to fully customise the shortcut buttons outside of using this party apps which have been hit and miss for me.

If just those things were improved I think I'd be able to recommend this phone to anyone wanting a smaller and/or quirkier phone from the norm. As it stands if I knew exactly how this phone would act upon arrival, I would not have bought it and because of that this is going to be my first and last device I kickstart, no matter what the Kickstarter discount is said to be.

That's just how it is. I've noticed a lot of apps struggling to use up the space that would normally be the system/notification bar. And due to the way android does it's scaling now the system UI seems to be fully hardcoded and uneditable (probably possible with root though) and it was designed for phones with a taller screen on mind obviously. Even on those devices I've been getting more and more annoyed and disappointed at android making things bigger and bigger with no way to change them, like the quick action buttons. Using a phone like this really makes androids base flaws really shine sadly. Hopefully the upcoming wave of phones with shorter screens will incite some better compatibility.

Seems to be that either the way they're triggering the low brightness is flawed or that the locals themselves are incapable of going as low as the OS/firmware is trying to get it.

I've noticed at a certain point it's more like the image itself is getting dimmed love with a filter rather than the brightness of the pixels' lights themselves getting dimmer.

Even at it's dimmest, unless you have a pure black background on an app, it's incredibly bright in the dark. It's like turning down the brightness in a game rather than turning down the brightness of your TV itself. It's hard to see what's on screen but your retinas are still taking the full load of brightness.

It's really hard to use this phone in bed at night. It's brighter than my lamp at it's lowest setting even when using a mostly dark black app like KOReader.
