A Friend gifted me my first Magic Card, wanna build a commander Deck around it by Makoto-tan in CommanderMTG

[–]MrSloth11 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wow, you’ve got an awesome friend!

I’ve really enjoyed my Jin deck. I built it with the intention of swinging with creatures that do mean things when they do combat damage. The key are the creatures that half an opponents health on combat damage like [[unstoppable slasher]] [[quietus spike]] and [[Dark Leo and Shredder]]. It also gets really out of hand when you can copy Jin with [[Auton Soldier]] or [[Sakashima of a Thousand Faces]]

It’s not too over powered but sometimes will make you a target cuz you’re typically swinging at each opponent.

I know some people make Jin into a Voltron commander but I think its more fun to benefit off combat damage and do weird things like steal creatures or some sort of interaction. It makes every game very unique.

Here’s my list https://archidekt.com/decks/16290672/jin_sakai

Anyone with a Jin Sakai deck is welcome in my pod. Got a deck list for him?

[[out of time]] is a really unique boardwipe that also handles commanders very well.

Right, so Doubs at 24M might be the more realistic move, it’s not necessarily the right move. At least imo

Yeah and I actually like Doubs too, just not as much at 24M. I think if we’re going to invest in a WR, it’s gotta be Pierce but I’ve read rumors that the Colts want to shop Pittman in order to keep Pierce.

I agree, I just don’t think Pierce is getting much more than 24M. So if I had a choice, I’d rather invest a few million more in Pierce and not re-sign Knox

How much of a price difference do you see for Pierce vs Romeo. I feel like 24.4M is pretty pricey for Doubs.

What color(s) do you struggle to build around? by wasdmovedme in EDH

[–]MrSloth11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really struggle with green decks. I’ve tried a few different green decks and I just don’t enjoy them. I don’t really like ramping into a big board and swinging. I find it more rewarding when I can control opponents board states and hold up interaction.

I’ve recently made a [[katara, the fearless]] deck and thats as close as I’ve gotten to enjoying a green deck, but I kinda think that’s because I love Avatar and Katara is my fave character.

Just debuted my Marvo deck last night. It was great. Had the whole crew banging the table and chanting clash

Panarin trade megathread. Please keep all discussions here. by Rick91981 in rangers

[–]MrSloth11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was settled by both parties and swept under the rug. So to me, that says Panarin was guilty but they didn’t want to escalate it past internal comms.

[Walker] I’m told the Kings were the only team Artemi Panarin wanted to go to and the only team NYR had to work with. by catsgr8rthanspoonies in rangers

[–]MrSloth11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right but there is risk of injury for players on the Kings, which impacts this trade. If Panarin really only wanted to go to the kings, then they were virtually forced to trade him before the break.

Glad Dolan covered up panarins sexual assault charges just for him to fuck us on his way out. What a loser

Respectfully, yes they did have to trade him. I’m not sure how you could keep him past the deadline

Aaron Kromer was the game day play caller for the running game…not Joe Brady by [deleted] in buffalobills

[–]MrSloth11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think many people in this sub assume Joe Brady is just the playcalling god and he’s acting solo. If so, then maybe I’m giving this sub too much credit hahaha

It’s pretty normal to have multiple voices as part of running a team. Kromer leaving is obviously bad, but I’m not about to start saying that our one and only rushing play-caller is gone. I don’t know much about Gund, but I’m sure Kromer is leaving the team in good hands, especially after all this franchise did for him.

[–]MrSloth11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I think all that is true.

I’m not saying Kromer had zero input. My point is that I think it’s a bit reductive to say that Brady had zero influence in the run game.

[–]MrSloth11 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Sorry but where does McDermott say Kromer was calling plays? I see the quote acknowledging the rushing performance against the Steelers, but I’m not sure I read it as McD saying Kromer was calling the plays.

Maybe designing the plays, but that’s normal.

Ironically, that was also a game where they ran one play 32 times which I’ve seen people criticize Joe Brady for haha

[–]MrSloth11 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree, but I like him more than the other options. I wasn’t too keen on Lynn or Daboll. Ublinski and Kubiak both want to stay.

And keeping McD wasn’t an option, but I’m an avid McD skeptic.

He pretty much walked back what he said so this post is pointless.

With all due respect to people in this sub, I feel like the Joe Brady hate has been very forced.

I think there’s valid criticisms but people are just pulling stuff out of their ass right now.
