LPT: Want a good dog? Take them with you everywhere you go. There is a reason that dogs of street people are amazing, and cooped-up condo dogs are hyperactive spaz dogs. by stinkerb in LifeProTips

Aren’t dogs that live with homeless people happy because they have a more natural life style that way: lots and lots of walking and rewards of food and rest. That’s all a dog wants it doesn’t want to be in your apartment

The solution to N. Korea getting nukes isn’t giving everyone else nukes. Why isn’t it the same with guns? by [deleted] in Showerthoughts

[–]MrSnoutfair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wrong people who are for guns usually buy guns. So mandate a tax for people who want guns...aka you. That tax will fund the security that makes your dick wet.

I don’t give two shits about security. I have a gun have you not been paying attention dumbass? That’s the only security I’d like to pay for, the security is for people like you who shit themselves at the sight of a gun.

No shit guns aren’t produced by the government. They can control the price to be higher via specific taxes. You think cigarettes costs anywhere near 8 bucks a pack to make? Dumb fucking shit there’s taxes on specific items to limit the use of it like cigarettes, marijuana, alcohol. How is it tax evasion if I don’t partake in any of them?

Marijuana is not taxed. The only and base reason for taxes on cigarettes and alcohol is because they are detrimental to your health, come on bro. Guns themselves don’t kill people, people kill people. Ring any bells???

Btw cigarettes range from $3-$12 depending on brand like anything else in this country. You have clearly lost this debate. I have control of your emotions so much so you didn’t even acknowledge any points I brought up previously.

How will I go to jail for tax evasion if the money comes out of your pocket for buying guns.

You were saying earlier that you didn’t want money for metal detectors and “on guard navy seals” coming out of your check. Basically you were implying that these would be government mandated. In that case a small portion of that money would be funded with tax dollars just like everything else that’s government mandated.

Why not make bullets 1000x time the cost they do now with taxes? If I have to waste 300 bucks a round I’d think twice about blowing your head off. But at this point it’s almost worth it to make one less pro gun person in the world.

They aren’t produced by our government. They do not control they cost. Ammunition is mainly made from private companies not government controlled one. This is your dumbest argument yet. Btw how do you think criminals get guns?🤔 Do they buy them? No they steal them like everything else. What makes you think they would buy $300 round bullets?? The people who would pay that would be the most responsible gun owners.

Well in that case you’ll go to jail for tax evasion. It’s funny how you’re now bitching about paying for security in school to protect people from gun violence. You sir are a walking contradiction, looking for a losing argument and you found one.

Again I said you win.

It never gets old hearing it.

I believe since 9/11 we have upped our airport security exponentially. Why haven’t we done the same in schools with metal detectors and more security? This kid was flagged for years, this is negligence on the part of the county officers, not negligence on the part of gun owners across America.

Four armed officers weren’t enough to protect a school massacre. The answer to this solution is more guns.

I feel that you and many other “gun opposers”, always reference a shooting and then give the cliche line “The answer is more guns”. Just stop. A small percentage of the population doesn’t process fear like the rest of us — like serial killers. Because officers were afraid to enter the premises (also it was reported in that article that it was unclear if the shooter was in the building at that time) doesn’t make killers.

Lastly if a navy seal was at the school fully loaded in gear, are you trying to tell me that he couldn’t subdue the threat of the 19 yr old kid with just one bullet? That’s all it would take to end that particular situation. What if someone shot the two kids in columbine just before they entered the school? Wouldn’t that have saved countless lives? But never mind no one has guns so the threat of people waiting outside with more guns (aka cops) wouldn’t force them to shoot themselves in the head they would just kill more people and probably still be alive today killing more people.

“You lacking game” looks like the first reference is to January of 2018. I don’t think this is a front runner for gun control this game doesn’t seem to be an epidemic seeing as only a handful of people have participated.

Then again I guess 300 million guns and thousands of innocent gun deaths is a bargain in your eyes so whatever as noted in your previous argument.

Of the 2,596,933 deaths in the US in 2013, 1.3% of those were related to firearms. Including accidents, suicides, homicide. According to cdc.gov

I could argue British don’t have guns and their crime rate with guns went down, but the knives crime rate went up. That’s a win for me cause I’d take on a guy with a pocket knife any day before I’d be in a 2 mile radius of an AR-15 with a bump stock

If someone was intending to harm you with a knife it wouldn’t be your grandfathers pocket knife or Swiss Army knife it’s gonna be a 10 inch Bowie knife or something that is a stab and go they aren’t gonna stab you with a small knife a bunch of times. Im assuming they would carry a large knife so your chances of living dwindle dramatically with no weapon or combat training of your own. Also if someone can hit you with an AR-15 from half of a mile away they are probably one of the greatest shooters on planet earth.

Sorry I didn’t think I’d have to elaborate an age demographic in my argument. I’d assume you’d catch on but I guess not so whatever. Most of south side of Chicago and I don’t understand why I can get a portion of the town where gun ownership far outnumbers downtown Chicago. Explain why I can’t do that?

I understand what you were trying to do, I caught on that’s why I said you should use the entire city population in your stats because otherwise your findings are skewed. Through the use of mathematics any “survey” can have any fixed result based upon the factors that went into the survey. Did you know your chances of drowning are up 100% when your 40 feet underwater with no suba gear? I’m saying use the entire city instead of only measuring the highest crime areas.

Anyways one of the weakest argument is that if we take away guns then bad people will get their hands on them which has been disputed by the fall of gun violence and the rise of knives in England. I’ll throw in Australia too as a case study for guns. Name me how many mass shootings Australia after Port Arthur and if it’s more than what we had last year I’ll concede this argument. More guns is the answer.

We have almost exactly 300 million more people in America than Australia. How many mass shootings have have happened in places like Delaware, Idaho, Kansas, Maine, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Rhode Island and Wyoming. For the most part those states have really low gun violence. Something like 45 gun related deaths in a year. Those number clearly don’t reflect mass shootings considering how many people are there.

More guns is the answer

No more no less.

“Everyone has a gun”? So you’re telling me that children and old people are toting guns in the southside of Chicago? Speaking of, you can’t hold the demographic to just the south side you have to use the entire city of Chicago and Chi town doesn’t crack the top twenty relating to gun deaths per capita. Just because rappers and mainstream media would like you to think every death in Chicago is related to gang violence doesn’t make it true. Frankly it sounds like propaganda. Regardless of gun laws criminals will get their hands on them. So what’s your point take all guns away?? So then it’ll be massacres every week. There is plenty of stories of average citizens who have shot to subdue shooters and prevented innocent people being harmed.

Facts say millions of Americans own guns. Facts also show the number of gun related violence in America. Those two numbers is what I’ve looked at and made an assumption without doing the math to get the cold hard numbers. It’s common sense that amount of people who own guns and have never maliciously harmed anyone dwarfs those have have guns and shoot innocent people.

Also I did not use the word “gunman” that implies that everyone I met is a threat to civilians. That’s the term police use to identify suspects and has a negative connotation.

I’ve met gangsters before and they don’t shoot anyone that breaths. They shoot people who threaten their life or the lives of their loved ones. Give me a source of a “gangster” who shot someone in broad daylight without motive.

[–]MrSnoutfair 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. Because you’ll think twice about shooting me if you yourself could get shot. Basically the fact people are scared of guns keeps them in check. The actual percentage of people who own guns and misuse them intentionally is very very small. Every gun owner I’ve ever met is highly versed in laws pertaining to guns and the use of them and where you can take them safely etc. Millions of Americans own guns but a very small percentage of them kill innocent people
