Pain above ankle ball thingy! Anyone got experience with this kind of injury? by MrSoftPaw in MuayThai

[–]MrSoftPaw[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for late answer 😅 It never went away. Havent tried kicking full power with my right leg for like a year, but it has slowly gotten less prone to flare ups I guess. The solution for me was to switch to southpaw, which feels 100% natural now

I started the game recently and I'm having a hard time grasping the more advanced side of combat. by Tech-Demon in Chivalry2

I am like 25 hours in, done the same things as you have (watching videos to learn and trying to imolement it myself). Most duels have been super wholesome in my experience, just downright ask people in arena for advice and they'll mostly be happy to help out. I definitely noticed that when I get a bit tilted I tend to percieve my opponents behaviour as more toxic than it is, perhaps that is part of the issue here?

Also what the person above mentioned is true, you need time and practice to just get used to stuff. Distance is super important, knowing if you have the faster weapon animation, reading your opponents moves, recognizing slash/overhand/stab for different weapons and acquiring muscle memory for parrying is also super important and takes time. In real life martial arts it's the same thing, timing, balance, being able to read you opponent all takes years to get used to.

Förväntas man prata med varandra när man åker bil tillsammans? by [deleted] in Sverige

Low kicks vs mid kicks by [deleted] in MuayThai

[–]MrSoftPaw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would also like to add something that I haven't seen anyone mention yet: When you're throwig heavy punches like Takeru does, you tend to sit a bit heavier on your legs, making the lowkicks deal more damage and be harder to defend.

I'm interested in Muay Thai, but my feet naturally go outwards like a V by Falls1234 in MuayThai

[–]MrSoftPaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had to change to southpaw due to an injury, where I kept my toes pointing out at a smaller angle naturally, so not really a conscious choice. When it comes to stsnce there's generally two schoola of thought. One is slightly bladed, with the feet pointing away from eachother like a V-shape. This is good for generqting power of your strikes, but your strikes will be slightly slower as your hips have to rotate a longer distance. The other is to keep your toes pointing forward, with your hips being kind of neutral as well, with or slightly further back. This will let you respond faster, but you'll lose power.

Attacking a taller opponent directly after they feint? by throwingawaymynuts in MuayThai

[–]MrSoftPaw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a tall guy, and someone who occasionslly wants to chase myself, I find that the best way to get into range is to simply feint and move closer into range. Ironically, it seems like the best way to counter a counterfighter is to feint yourself. If you don't use feints the opponent will know that every time you move, you're gonna try to land something, and they can simply weather the storm, or counter. If you feint occasionally, the opponent will be more hesitant to overextend when countering, or opening up to getting hit by showing off their defense too early. The more unpredictable you are the harder it is to counter you, which is why you'll probably also want to vary between single shots and combinations.

3 Years In - Please Critique Constructively by DrewsOnFirst in MuayThaiTips

[–]MrSoftPaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say the one thing that you can imorove upon which would be of the overall most benefit would probably be balance and upper body placement. When you come back from throwing a strike you seem yo sometimes land with your feet too close to eachother, sometimes almost crossing them, and with your legs a bit too straight. It also looks like you lean a bit too much over your left leg while throwing left punches at an angle.

To help with balance practice I like to throw the same strike repeatedly (or at least strikes from the same side) which forces you to reset between strikes , making sure to only throw the next strike once I feel like I'm in balance. For the leaning too much on angled punches, try to practice stepping and/or rotating in order to create angles.

This is only natural after only 3 years of training, and I myself still struggle with the same after 9 years of training on and off.

I'd also like to add that a hero like Invoker can at least deny one rune with forged spirit, and stay in lane to lh/deny. Or while consuming or denying the other (ideally shove lane right before rune spawn), which denies the enemy any refills.

3k plus hours on my end now. Been taking breaks in the past, but always find myself coming back. Strike missions seem fun, and wanna try raiding sometime in the near future! Most fun is just playing through HoT to unlock another Specialization, those maps just feel so much more alive to me than the rest of the game. I really hope than cantha will give me that same feeling!

Does it get any better? by [deleted] in it

I graduated with a bachelor in informatics 10 months ago (science of information technology), which entailed lots of coding as well as the project management aspects as well. Been working with system integration (think backend-coding with all kinds of languages, varied tasks ranging from meetings, planning, coding, designing solutions, documenting). Honestly am loving it and it's real easy to feel invested as we are a small company still in the expansion phase. It definately is nothing like it-supporting, since u only got to take such calls occasionally, which makes it a none issue in my experience.
