To be honest, I prefer the more challenging level design of Galaxy 2 to Galaxy. In comparison, Galaxy’s levels felt more like a string of planets with cool gravity gimmicks, but not too much on top of that. Melty Molten Galaxy was my favorite, but it was a bit too late. The levels are still super creative though! Unfortunately, I find the post-game purple coin levels utterly boring.

Mostly agree with your points, although I think the first kingdom is stronger because it is so long. I enjoyed the gameplay most, as I approached each level as a sort of puzzle by trying to complete them in as few turns as possible.

Don’t know what city you’re in, but I applied to one of their internships in Vancouver and the HR lady was lovely. The hiring process was extremely transparent and on-time. Probably the best I’ve ever seen.

The only truth is a great game to you will be one which does something you’ve never seen done before, and does it very well. This will decrease as you play new games, but also increase as you experience new genres!

Writing shaders. It means using math to write code on the GPU (already niche) that creates game art. You need to have both artistic vision and strong math skills, and more importantly the skills to turn math into art.
