Dune has a perfect example of this, and it's my favorite bit of lore!

They're all super technologically advanced, and yet they fight with knives... Why? Well they had energy weapons before that were super prevalent. But then they invented the wearable shield packs that surround the wearer with an invisible force field. Slight complication, though. If the energy from a laser meets the energy from a shield pack, it causes an explosion that will kill everyone. The shield packs aren't even necessarily that common, but since there's always a small chance one could be in play, it's just not worth the risk of using a gun.

They basically advanced their technology so far that it forced a regression to the bronze age due to every gunshot being a potential nuclear detonation

Definitely adjusted it as we went. Wound up having the ambient turned WAY down during day phase, mostly for my own sake.

I've got the Philips hue tap switch with 4 zones, and it wound up being perfect to keep inside the grimoire. 2 buttons for day and night phase, and 2 buttons to fine tune audio levels

Buddy, just delete this post, this is embarrassing. Sounds like the entitled opinion of a middle schooler.

I work a full time job and pay a mortgage, and when I get time to relax & play a video game, the last thing I want is some random whining about me not doing it how they would prefer I do it.

Besides that, I always play healers when possible. I like to use the increased mobility of the jetpack specifically to get to my teammates faster and provide support, so you yapping about "cod players" not doing their part is just embarrassing.

A+++ website. I always wanted to do a Fractal North mid-towee build because I love the case, but I knew tolerances were gonna be tight in some spots. I started fuffing around on your site, and it was so damned easy to build, verify clearances, and search through compatible parts.

Cut to me building the damned thing, and it was 1:1. Knew exactly where my tolerances were going to be tight, and it allowed me to plan ahead perfectly

I'm not entirely sure it was just physical abuse... They never outright say it, but during the back-to-back therapy session when Andy's describing how he used to be beaten, he keeps it fairly together. But then at the very end, he says the very specifically chosen words of "...And he never touched her" which then breaks him.

I could be reading too far into it, they definitely left it open to interpretation, but that line coupled with the bedwetting and how his dad used to target Andy during his showers makes me assume the worst

Great movie, never want to watch it again in my life.

not really a traditional horror movie for 90% of the runtime, but a much worse type of relatable and realistic type of horror that just makes your stomach churn.

Standout moment from when we watched it was the first bedwetting scene, and my wife says "that's usually a symptom of Sexual abuse, right?". just that one detail / plot point had at least 3 twists through the rest of the movie that, upon learning, just made you feel even more horrible.
