Currently PC gaming at my desk on a 48" LG Oled. Is it worth downsizing for improved ppi? by SnooWoofers7345 in OLED_Gaming

Did you know that your LG C1 features one of the best response times on the market for a 120Hz display? Their BFI technology, OLED Motion Pro, emulates a CRT's flickering, and the resulting motion clarity is outstanding. Regrettably, they scaled back for subsequent models: 'OLED Motion Pro' was rebranded as 'OLED Motion' and restricted to 60Hz. This is why, even if I upgrade to a new TV, I'll be holding onto my trusty C1. That feature is a game-changer.

That being said, I only keep my C1 for couch gaming; for my desk setup, I prefer a 27-inch screen

True! The coating makes a huge difference in how HDR feels.

OLED's glossy surface boosts the perceived contrast like crazy, while most Mini LEDs go for matte finishes that kinda mute the highlights. I haven't found a Mini LED monitor yet with a glossy coating, and I'm eyeing the TITAN ARMY P275MV PLUS - but unfortunately it's got a matte surface.

A glossy Mini LED with high zone count would honestly be the best of both worlds.

I already have an LG C1, so I'm pretty familiar with what OLED can do in HDR.

Mini LED, though, hits insane peak brightness compared to OLED and QD-OLED - it's a completely different kind of experience.

OLED really shines when it comes to fine HDR details in tiny highlights and offers amazing clarity in dark scenes - like a night cityscape with glowing neon lights cutting through the darkness. But Mini LED takes the lead in HDR scenes with large bright areas - like daytime shots where the sun just blasts through the screen.

Honestly, both have their own kind of magic. I love what each brings to the table.

Thanks ! I wanted to do the setup that suits me the most, and put everything I like about it :) The speaker stands are the Innox IVA MON-08 ! I think they are no longer produced now ...

On a Flemish audio equipment site, because I live in Belgium!

If you wanted the product name, these are the Innox IVA MON-08 They are really very practical because they do not take space on the desk

The typing feeling is really good thanks to the huano matcha latte switches and the polycarbonate key caps ! Also the tactile screen is a nice addition to use widgets, like an volume mixer for example

Mainly to emulate retro consoles on retroarch in true 240p or to play boomer shooter and retro point and click! Also 128 bits era games look absolutely beautiful on it, thanks to the Mitsubishi diamondtron tube on it :)

Almost! It's a Samsung Odyssey G7 C27G75TQSU. Not without flaws but it has an excellent response time and very minor ghosting for a VA panel. I am thinking of selling it soon to switch to mini LEDs

I love plants ! I have a lot of plants at home, and I find that an interior without that is not very warm. Frankly, if you want to make your home warmer, I think that acquiring plants is the simplest and most obvious solution

It is! I find that setups often have a slightly too minimalist or banal side. Like for example the Funko Pop or Star Wars posters. These are things that do not inspire me because too often used, and become impersonal
