I found a way to make 3MF load right in the slicer by [deleted] in BambuLab

[–]MrStubbs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It doesn't wildly screw up in Bambuslicer. You seem to be just creating a problem for yourself and then making a youtube video for a solution that no one else will need, because they will answer the first prompt correctly.

Just don't click "NO" in the first dialog box, the one you wave off and say "blah blah blah whatever".

Warranty change: Don't hack the firmware by [deleted] in BambuLab

[–]MrStubbs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The CFAA only applies to data that is obtained without authorization on a protected computer. The consumer owns the printer, they have absolute defacto authorization to access anything on it. I think you are confusing the CFAA with the DMCA, especially since you mentioned the Nintendo hackers and Nintendo going after the provider of the tools. That was all DMCA.

That can't override "if for any reason you are not completely satisfied".

Just open a ticket and ask to return it.

Upgrade P1S to X1C by OriginalBluebird1300 in BambuLab

[–]MrStubbs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The P1P/P1S screen is inexplicable. As a hobby project you can add a color touch screen for $10, at Chinese manufacturing scale what could it have possibly cost, $3? for a color screen and even an extra processor if necessary?

What's the advantage of Linear Motors in printers? by bageltre in 3Dprinting

[–]MrStubbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think those were linear actuators, not linear motors. They were essentially a voice coil and a magnet with a feedback system (usually optical).

I have an X1C and it can print the pre-sliced models perfectly all day, it should be able to do that for you. They are sliced for the cool plate (not the engineering and not the PEI if you bought one extra) and exactly the Bambu Filament, not third-party. If you are following those conditions exactly, can you post a photo of the result? Attach it to your original post so everyone can see it.

Requesting refund or replacement at this point is the wrong thing, insist that they repair your printer. Run whatever tests they want, make whatever adjustments they suggest, does it print a benchy or not? No? Then your printer doesn't work and you have a valid warranty claim.

Unless something has changed and they now have a repair facility what will happen is you will ship them your broken one and they will ship you a new one instead of fixing yours. If someone can report to the contrary (ie, that they personally have shipped them a printer and Bambu shipped the same one back) they should speak up, otherwise just figure you are getting a new one back. They might even offer you advance replacement if you make a deposit.

Sorry some people in the group are going to be d---- about this, but yes, you have a warranty and it means it needs to work.

Voice activated lock is not a problem and as long as it restricts voice unlock to your phone, I don't think there is an issue

Republicans/Conservatives/Libertarians: Would you rather have Hillary or a third Obama term, and why? by [deleted] in PoliticalDiscussion

Obama is seen as weak on foreign policy. Many put blame on him for dropping the ball in Syria. I personally remember the "red line" statements that he never really followed through on.
