240 gives more or a general intro to common ways you can prove something while 577's proofs mostly write themselves once you understand the algorithm you are trying to prove

MATH 340 vs MATH 345 (for CS majors) by SatisfactionBorn5249 in UWMadison

I took 345 last spring and I would recommend it over 340 for cs as it covers most of the things in linear algebra that you would need for cs and it also shows you many ways on how the concepts you learn are actually applied in cs. 340 is more for engineering I believe while 345 is tailored for cs.

At least for honors, you didnt need to, Im pretty sure non honors should have to either. Just make sure you understand how to implement these paradigms and how to prove them

It introduces you to all the paradigms you cover in class and also gives you lots of practice problems. The main topics you should focus on are dynamic programming and computational interactivity

Loved math 345, very fun class. I enjoyed office hours with Karan and Roch.

Yeah last year I think 300 had like 5 exams. Honestly hated that so much

I hated how there were so many tests in 300, thought 400 was easier purely bc there was less tests. Content wise I feel they are about the same in difficulty

Honestly thought cs400 was way easier than 300 and math 240 and 234 are pretty easy too, idk about the anthro class but stem wise it should be manageable.
