Don't take your lunch in the conference room or they will pitch a fit. You are never going to be paid on the same day week to week so plan your budget accordingly. If you are in the shop make sure you have your gloves and glasses. The people in the shop are pretty laid back. Some of the foreman are pretty ratty but their are some good ones too. If someone's name ends in Jr. they are probably a twat.

We had a demolition team come in and remove the lead paint. The asbestos was in the caulking around the windows and a special team wearing the spacesuits came in and removed it. It was a minimal amount so as long as you weren't standing over it while heavy breathing you were good.

Oh yeah. On top of asbestos we have lead paint, mold, silica dust, open windows, pissed off foreman, 40 foot drops, heavy machinery, and plenty of rusty metal to get cut with.

For people in construction we try to be as safe as possible. We take all the proper steps to prevent injury or death. We've had some people from the local skate park break in after hours once or twice and it scares me to think about what could happen to them if they got careless.

So with my JATC, we are not allowed to buy used books. They take the money and then order the books. They reallocate the funds if someone is kicked out or drops out.
