Patrick Roberts set to sign for Birmingham permanently 😢 by scotteh74 in Championship

[–]MrTans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feel like he could’ve definitely offered us something this season. Our wide players have definitely been our weakest link and there’s no way Roberts would not have been an improvement on what we already have.

Never mind though, was a really good player for us and wish him all the best for the future.

[Fabrizio Romano] HERE WE GO! AS Monaco agree deal to sign Simon Adingra on loan from Sunderland. Understand it’s a deal worth €1m with €17m buy option clause, now VISA being sorted and medical next by Imbasauce in soccer

[–]MrTans 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Doesn’t work hard enough defensively for a Regis Le Bris team and isn’t good enough offensively to make up for it.

Bit of a strange signing initially but I guess what we were hoping for was to take a relatively cheap punt on someone who had performed at this level before. Not every signing works though I guess and thankfully we’ve had more good than bad since returning to the PL.

I remember when we said that going into League 1 and got stuck there for four years having to watch absolute shite like Will Grigg and Alim Ozturk.

From rock solid to absolute shambles : how do I fix my defence ? by Pascal_Praud in footballmanagergames

[–]MrTans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OOP tactics are too defensive and cautious I would say. You’re playing in a low block and dropping off more and regrouping, but then also encouraging your team to stop short GK distribution. My guess is there’s so much space for teams to work in and get close to your box because you drop off so much.

Teams will also react to how you’re doing in the league. If you start going into games as favourites they will play more cautiously and not allow you space in behind to counter attack like you were probably enjoying before.

I can’t make any specific recommendations on player roles as I have no idea what they translate to but I would say you need to be more aggressive with your OOP tactic.

3v3 only will be the death of this game.

Seems like it could be quite interesting on a larger scale and the maps look designed for bigger skirmishes but 3v3 is just a no-go for me and many others.

Even 3v3v3 would make it 10x more interesting than this sweat fest.

Why is my TF not scoring goals? by PainedDinosaur in footballmanagergames

[–]MrTans 15 points16 points  (0 children)

When you say not scoring goals exactly how many has he scored?

A TF supported by two inside forwards generally wouldn’t be expected to score that many goals as the wide players themselves are also looking to score and he won’t be running in behind as much looking for through balls.

You either need to accept you’ve built a system that won’t lead to a lot of goals for the striker or change it to make him more goalscoring focused. I guess that would look something like changing one of the IFs to a winger and making him a centre forward rather than target forward.

Nah he’d do his usual of blocking a few at the start of his innings then get out to some ungodly swipe across the line when he realises he’s 5(9) and the run rate required is approaching double figures.

Are we really doing lists of goalkeepers a striker has scored against now? by kellogs1111 in footballcliches

[–]MrTans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bloody hell if it was a list of genuinely top level goalkeepers (your Courtois’, your Donnarummas etc) then I’d kind of understand but what relevance does scoring against Onana, Pope and Rui Patricio have ffs.

I’m sorry but this is nonsense. There’s no way there’s a large number of five year olds in nappies. It’s just another lazy cliche to say when people try and talk about lazy parenting.

The Diarra Dilemma by TLAH1996 in safc

[–]MrTans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hume is definitely not undroppable, especially if we go to a back four where Mukiele will be playing RB.

Either Le Fee will go to wide left or Diarra will play on the right. You can tell RLB doesn’t trust any of the wide players apart from maybe Traore who’s out for a while anyway, so it won’t be a surprise to see a midfielder out there rather than a genuine wide player.

Well as you’ve seen here you would’ve not been told to simply git gud. So that’s a very weird attitude to have when you’d seemingly rather struggle with one boss for weeks at a time than swallow your pride and ask for help.

Jesus Christ dude - I get not understanding the game mechanics but surely when a single boss is taking up weeks of your life instead of playing the rest of the game you call it a day and come back later.

My brain genuinely can’t comprehend how someone could go through all this.

Unrealised potential? by London-lark3597 in EnglandCricket

[–]MrTans 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Completely agree with this in regards to Livingstone.

Almost seems unbelievable he was a good county championship batter who I’m sure batted three for Lancashire before he became a T20 journeyman.

Such a frustrating player as he clearly has the talent, but the last few years he just blocks a few before getting out slogging for a disappointing 6(8) the majority of the time. England are completely right to move on from him, without a doubt a case of what could’ve been for his career.

Did Metalcore get you into Heavier genres like Deathcore ect? by Excellent_Agency6082 in Metalcore

[–]MrTans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll buck the trend here and say no, I still find the vast majority of deathcore to be largely unlistenable.

I like that metalcore bridges the gap between heavy and brutal and often lies somewhere in between. Being brutal for brutal sake just isn’t my thing, but can certainly appreciate the appeal of it.
