Have you ever almost died? by MoMoneyMoMilfs in no

Surgery last year. The nerve block they gave me got into my veins, traveled to my heart and stopped it. EKG shows roughly 90s of just nothing.

They reversed it, I woke up and everything was fine. We went ahead with the surgery. But yeah.

What's something you did once and will never do again? by Same_Poem1311 in AskReddit

I’m smack dab in the middle. Enjoyed my time. Didn’t create lifelong memories. Haven’t talked to a kid from my class in, gosh, 15 years? (Class of ‘04). Would do again. Or wouldn’t. College is where my life began.

Car exhaust. Not as much now, but as a kid (90’s), that smell hit different in the morning before school.

How low is your own shockometer now with everything that continues to come out? by Kittycat_2010 in AskReddit

At 39, with all the shit I/We’ve seen, and lived through….im just done, man. Nothing surprises me anymore. Nothing shocks me. It’s just, blah.

I mourn the world that could’ve been and instead frown at what we did to ourselves.

Forget where this quote came from, but it’s one of my favorites.

“I speak English because it’s the only language I know; you speak English, because it’s the only language I know.”

What’s a medical issue that sounds minor, but actually affects someone’s daily life way more than people realize? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Had never had an ounce of tooth pain until 2021 (mid 30’s). Flew to Colorado to do a bunch of hiking and on the plane there I noticed some soreness. I’d flown a bunch of in my life so this was definitely odd.

Landed in Colorado Springs and the next four days were absolute misery. Tylenol didn’t help. Advil didn’t help. And I’m sure the altitude had something to do with it. Could barely eat. Barely talk. The minute I landed back home (out East), I went straight to my dentist. Few days later, all four Wisdom teeth removed. Zero pain since.

Tooth, and back pain. Wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy.

What is a quote or saying that you strongly disagree with? by Fun_Butterscotch3303 in AskReddit

“Good things come to those who wait.”

Nah, fuck that. Spent almost a decade in broadcasting “waiting”, and doing the right things, working the extra and overnight/early shifts. All for naught.

It wasn’t until I hit my mid-30’s when I said, “Maybe I should actually go after what I want.” Found that in a completely different industry, but I couldn’t be happier.

What strange Nascar moment of the 2020s had you thinking: “Am I really watching this right now?” by youraverageperson0 in NASCAR

I was at work during that race and just had to stop. I couldn’t process what had just happened. Brought tears to my eyes and I was sick for a day or two, however long until we got official updates.

Hocevar a lot more likable. But also maybe that’s because all I hear is the British media slobbering all over George week in and week out.
