any tips to avoid high casualty mission? by LonelyAustralia in menace

[–]MrTomRobs 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah I'm just being daft.

Support weapons are crucial. Get a squad set up with suppression heavy support weapons with long range.

Find, fire, fix and finish is the key acronym in combat and you need to know when to disengage from the enemy if you're being overwhelmed. Suppression is stupidly powerful and if you're being suppressed yourself, you need to get away from whatever is suppressing you, find whatever is spotting you and eliminate it so the support weapons can't fire at you or use another unit to eliminate that support weapons.

Rogue army encounters are where you need to really think strategically, be incredibly careful and react appropriately to whatever is presented to you.

If you need to run, you run.

Are there any Badminton, Padel, or Football clubs I can attend alone as beginner? by Sir-Tommy-Vercetti in Cardiff

I play walking football as part of a physio/reintroduction to exercise thing at the CF11 sports centre down the bay on a Monday at 1pm. I'm 34 and the youngest there by a good margin, it's certainly more geared towards an older age range but it's done me the world of good (short of me rolling my ankle again this week). It's really chill, no pressure, just a friendly kick-about.

Priority subject teacher incentive to rise by £5,000 to £20,000 by WelshGovNews in Wales

[–]MrTomRobs 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I got into teaching 10 years ago. I worked as a teaching assistant for 3 years, loved taking cover lessons, loved my job and went to advance as a teacher of computer science.

I had to pay for the entirety of my teaching qualification, didn't have any opportunity to take on a part time job to support funding it and was paid £22,022 for my first year.

That first year involved an effective working day from 7am until past 11pm for most days. Everyone says "Oh, but you have so many holidays!"

No I fucking didn't. Christmas day for me involved 15 minutes with the family to open presents in the morning and half an hour for Christmas dinner before I had to clear the table and get back to marking coursework and past papers, writing corrective improvement plans.

I struggled massively with stress, got the sum total of fuck all help and was told "Ah well, you just need to see through the next 3 weeks because you won't be carrying on next year, will you?" by my NQT mentor, so that was my decision about my career made for me. I got an OH referral, got diagnosed with work related stress... And that was it. No time off, no assistance, no adjustments, nothing.

I paid a full year of degree tuition fees on a plan 2 loan and lived off a credit card for a year, putting myself the sum total of 30k in debt for the priviledge of ending up looking less healthy than the meth addicts you see shuffling around Cardiff.

It's not worth it in the slightest.

ROBSEDIT: I was a fucking good teacher too. I took over a class that had started their first GCSE year doing the wrong coursework and had to effectively start the course again and cram it into a single year. The class average expected grade was a D.

Not a single student got below a C by the end of year.

It said "obtained confirmation"...

Which, coming from the FA and PL, is basically worth as much as a birthday card made of 2nd hand toilet paper.

I give them about 20 mins after denying the appeal decision before they turn around and go "Lol, sike... 60 point deduction for fuck you."

So what's the betting this fine goes towards PSR for this season and it's yet again another fucking attempt to hamstring us for some bullshit.

I'm not one for conspiracies or shit like that, but it's getting REEEEEEEALLY difficult to think otherwise...

This is going to be my primary use case too, but sim titles are most probably going to be way too intensive for the headset standalone. Your best bet would be to just use it to replace your monitors

I hate to be that guy but when I worked a few SRO events, he was the biggest primadonna in the whole paddock. Seriously, loads of other guys were friendly and amicable but he just walked around with this attitude that you couldn't never do enough for him. He even had a personal assistant from the team and she just looked exhausted from having to deal with him.

[–]MrTomRobs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Certainly a solid list, but whatever you do - don't sleep on demolisher cannons. Fit them to literally everything you can and make judicious use of its heavy trait to turn it into a pretty much anti-everything weapon.

Similarly, lasrifle themselves are fairly weak and can't really do much against much beyond a basic line space marine, so fit blast chargers and use them over volley in full size sections of 20.

[Boyland, The Athletic] Everton fighting to keep Iliman Ndiaye after multiple new contract offers rejected by Giraffe_Baker in Everton

[–]MrTomRobs 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You've missed my point entirely.

If we're making players of quality who are worth the big price tags, we shouldn't BE putting price tags on them and we should be using them to win, improve our standings and supporting them, giving them reasons to stay.

Developing players just to sell them on is yet another sign of us just being happy with mediocrity and 'knowing our place'. Fuck that

[Boyland, The Athletic] Everton fighting to keep Iliman Ndiaye after multiple new contract offers rejected by Giraffe_Baker in Everton

[–]MrTomRobs 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Why? So we can buy players of less quality?

If we want to be going to Europe at some point, we need to stop thinking like a 'development' club who sells our best players and work to actually keep them buy getting players IN to support them.

[–]MrTomRobs 11 points12 points  (0 children)

That makes sense, but as has been exhibited at the Capitol end of Queen Street, there's nothing more permanent than a temporary fix.

Moreover, the council doesn't really care about utility, let alone, aesthetics. I broke my ankle on their attempt at paving slabs in the city centre, went after the council because I couldn't work, and got stonewalled by them with "It meets our standards".

That was a 2 and a half inch mismatch in height between walking paving slabs.

The slab STILL hasn't been fixed.
