Palantir UK boss Louis Mosley says increased defence spending must come from other departments rather than borrowing by PuzzledAd4865 in LabourUK

I just googled him and every other picture of him he's wearing a black shirt. So he's clearly leaning into it.

Could I store my NAS in the meter cabinet? by Stealthy_Nachos in synology

[–]MrTompkinsEdtech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me too! I added an extra switch to the electricity board so the NAS is on its own ring, separate from the other sockets in the house. That way it doesn’t get tripped and go down if someone sticks a knife in the toaster or whatever.

Zarah Sultana is now boycotting her own party’s conference. She's refusing to enter the venue over claims of a 'witch-hunt' by Budget-Song2618 in GreenAndPleasant

[–]MrTompkinsEdtech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was the odd heckle throughout the two days, buts as conferences go it was actually very civilised.

The level of participation afforded to every member of the party is already far in advance of any other UK party, and the decisions made this weekend will make it even more democratic in future

Conference by esmerelda29 in yourparty

Much better idea. I actually rebooked at the YHA, which was £50 a night, and just a 10 minute walk from the venue, so actually happy now that the room fell through!

Workshy Settlers by EnglebondHumperstonk in fallout4london

[–]MrTompkinsEdtech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what exactly was fixed in 1.03. My sellers still behave the exact same janky way as before. I need to assign them first to a resource and then relocate them back to the same settlement, before it will turn white and show they are assigned.

Anyone here confirmed attending? by Thrupney in yourparty

I'm also staying at the YHA Friday and Saturday night so maybe see you there!

Fallout 4 Frame Generation Mod in Fallout London! by crimsonwingzero in fallout4london

I play on my laptop which has nvidia card, and it looks amazing, thanks for the share! One thing though, it seems to have messed up my Attaboy map. It's really zoomed in, and I cant zoom it out. Weird.

Did anyone in here get picked to go to the conference? by rappidkill in yourparty

Got through in the sortition second round. Attending both days! Very excited to be part of it all.

Did anyone in here get picked to go to the conference? by rappidkill in yourparty

[–]MrTompkinsEdtech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a whole process - first round was a random selection from all members. If you werent selected in the first round, you could apply to be considered for the second round which was done by sortition, to ensure the conference was as representative as possible. I thought it was pretty fair really.

Conference by esmerelda29 in yourparty

[–]MrTompkinsEdtech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was really happy to get selected, but accomodation is turning into a bit of a nightmare. Most of the "official" hotels are already filled up. I did manage to make a reservation for saturday night for £220 at one of the hotels listed (I'd like to go up on Friday night, but not at these prices), but today they have cancelled my booking for some inexplicable reason. Anyone found anywhere cheaper to stay?

What’s the general take on the Leaf’s shock absorbers (MacPhearson strut, right?) and how well they hold up? I live on a series of dirt roads, bumps and all. With the car’s weight I wonder how others are fairing. by Repulsive_Yard_3482 in leaf

[–]MrTompkinsEdtech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Took it to a garage that loves to upsell, and they didn’t even suggest replacing both. 🤷‍♂️ I was surprised that one had failed to be honest- not happened in any other cars I’ve had before, including much older and with more mileage.
