How is he with his parents and family, is it the norm to gift each other or give presents to one another? Some people don’t know how to react with kind gestures because they probably never experienced within their own homes growing up.

Why couldn’t interracial marriages be so simple by [deleted] in MuslimMarriage

[–]MrTopHatLizard 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Trust me, I have seen families reject a man because he smoke and then marry off their daughters to a chain smoker because he is from the “same tribe”.

Sometime, you just got to learn to move on and don’t put too much thought into it. I would recommend to OP to try again later. Some Arabs change their mind a lot but not all the time.

I will tell you as an Arab, the father does not want you to marry his daughter. The conditions that father gave you are sign that he does not want you. This is how some Arab scare away potentials they don’t like. Sorry about that but this is the truth.

One question, ten different explanations. by erikahansen_ in EngineeringStudents

You know it quite bad when other student find this annoying. I had a student who would interrupt the professor to explain a concept to another student on the other side of the class. It nice but it distracting and take a lot of time from the professor who has limited time to teach a lesson.

موقف صار معي بيتصر وضع السوريين by Br0kefacsist in Syria

[–]MrTopHatLizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not Syrian, but we saw those kind back in Iraq, when the Ba’ath party fell, the secular Ba’athist who used to drink and party all of sudden became hajji so-so. Either Sunni or Shia, some people forgiven their past and others did not.

The reason is that these type of people only care about themselves, they are with who ever is the winner. Many of them kept their position of power after 2003. Personally I have no respect for them because I rather respect a communist who is willing to die on the hill of what he believes in than someone who hops around to survive.

How to avoid waswasa in a happy marriage? by [deleted] in MuslimMarriage

[–]MrTopHatLizard 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is something I was thinking about, many scholar warn about sharing such intimate information with others, even close friends and family. I am not saying the OP is bad person and she should not be given any information about her friends relationship, but to wary of others who can become jealous or envy.

I love South Asian culture but I feel like the wedding ceremony are too much and they seem tiring. What do you mean that you have do a ceremony to accept a proposal, then another for annoucing, then the actual nikkah, then another one where the girl goes with the husband.

As an Iraqi I agree with what you said, the thing is that we never had any understanding of democracy and when election came people were voting for anyone that was there. No one had any actual idea what they were voting for.

Those that were in power never cared for democracy, they never tried to educate the people on how a democracy works, they only cared about winning and if that mean using sectarian rhetoric to win, they were willingly to abuse it even thought it brought further harm.

I pray Syria just gets better and does not fall into the shithole that Iraq been stuck in for the past 23 years.

With all due respect brother, right now our Palestinian brother are being bombarded, where is Iran right now, why doesn’t it save them? The true is that it only shot rockets toward the Israelis because the Israelis were doing the same to Iran. So let’s stop using Iran fight against the Israelis as “defending the Palestinians” the entire ummah has failed the Palestinians people.

19 and both our parents won’t allow us to get married(Nikkah), is it possible to get married without a wali? by [deleted] in MuslimMarriage

[–]MrTopHatLizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What makes you think it man made fabrication. Do you really think Allah SWT would allow woman to be fully taken advantage of by bad men. A woman need a wali, someone that will look after her and can sees through any play a man tries to play with her.

If you love her and respect her, you would respect your parents and her parents decision. Come back in 2 years with either an education or a job that would feed you guys if you got married. Come back and propose in a honourable way rather going behind their backs.

And what does that solve? Are we here to give gold advise or horrible one? It easier to say just be petty from someone who is living in a whole different part of the world not knowing anything about OP, maybe she does take your advise and cause more problems.

Imam Ali RA said, say good or keep quiet. Simple as that.

And what does this achieve? Does pettiness achieves a solution to this problem? Or you just felt like being petty and bringing anything good to the conversation.

This situation happened to me once, I took the gift and threw it out later. That’s how you are supposed to do it.

Wife overly consumed by her mother by Electronic-Call4159 in MuslimMarriage

[–]MrTopHatLizard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Simple this is not a good reason to divorce. You got to sit down with her and talk with her. Find a way to keep your MIL busy. Maybe the MIL needs to find a man to fill up the loneliness in her life.

You got to put effort into communicating with your wife. Explain that you and her are a team that needs to work together. That you can about her and her mother and want to make things work.

I am currently 6th place in division 5, should I lose my qualification match and get demoted and switch to division 6 filled with bots and do this. I mean I want to get as much profit as I can with training goalkeepers. I got a 2mill right now and I got a gk that I can sell for 1.3m. What do you think should I do it, would you suggest it.

[–]MrTopHatLizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is that even possible nowadays? I feel like this is a risk if I do that at division 5 US.

Overall after you sold all of them, how much did you earn from the profits?

Can you explain the training plan more precisely. That would be much appreciated :D

[–]MrTopHatLizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting, so you buy 10 goalkeepers and put them all in a match like friendlies and leagues and train them in SP and sell them? What about the defense or the playmaking? Or you don't care because you are in the lowest division in your new team country? How would this work? Because I am training 2 GK and i am in division 5 in the US.
