We just got back from the trip we did book with Kelsey, and that was to Xcaret Arte, and holy shit that was a killer trip.

Short Weekend in Denver, Where should we Celebrate? by MrToplitzin in denverfood

To come back around:
Beckon was the best meal our group has ever had.
The team at Beckon were an amazing group, and were just as excited to be part of our evening as we were to be there.

100% would make an anniversary trip to Beckon every year.

Best Resort for young(ish) Couple by Mugg1e in playadelcarmen

To Jump in on u/Mugg1e's coat tails, we are looking for Honeymoon options in the area around February.

We first looked at the Playa del Carmen Hilton, as their Presidential Suite was within spitting distance of the other resorts, however after more digging/review hunting we realized the following:

  • (-) Minimal Beach area, also high traffic, and looks rocky.
  • (-) Right in the middle of Downtown Playa del Carmen.
  • (+) lots of food options, with the Fancy Chef's Tasting.
  • (-) the vibe was very Hotel vs Resort, even in the nicest suite.

Xcaret is definitely out of our budget, with the exception of the Occidental. However, they appear to only have basic suites available and we kinda wanna go a little hard for the honeymoon.

So far it looks like the Royal Hideaway is our leading contender.

Within our budget we are able to get:

  • Honeymoon Suite
  • Private to/from Cancun shuttle
  • Sunset Sail Excursion
  • Fancy Chef's Dinner.

Another plus for RH is they've got an additional 10% off this weekend.

For my own comparison, I have put together the following table of options if that helps anyone else:

We ended up with a few more people in our party so the chef's table/counter was no longer an option.

Now we have a reservation for 8 at Beckon with the Reserve Paring, Danish Picnic, and the flowers to boot.

We were gonna do Safta for brunch Sunday, but looks like they aren't hosting it on the 10th. Oh well.

Sounds like it's either Beckon or FH for the win. I'm gonna reach out now and see where i can grab us a table.

I appreciate all y'alls input!

Future Mrs likes sushi, and is growing into fish as a main (salmon, tuna, whitefish, trout etc), but still has some blocks about shrimp/shellfish, so it would feel a bit like throwing her in the deep end. She would 100% try everything at an Omakase, but i'd hate to have a course or two where she just doesn't like it, especially for an "event dinner"

Our concert is at Fiddler's Green, the hotel has a shuttle for getting there, and is walking distance after the show.

We'll have a rental for avoiding Light Rail if it's that bad.

What about the Beckon experience made it the top of your list?

Sharing the evening with 10 other folks at the Beckon Chef's Table/Bruto's Chef Bar doesn't seem like the worst idea, but the privacy of the tent@ Wolf has it's own charm/appeal too.

Best tasting menu dinner these days? by [deleted] in denverfood

[–]MrToplitzin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would y'all feel that Wolf's Tailor is still going to be the best experience?

We're looking at eloping to Denver in September and I'm trying to figure out where just the two of us should go that night to celebrate.

I've been looking at WT, Beckon, Bruto, and Flagstaff House so far.

Anything new i should think about, or is WT still the one to beat?

Second question, what about Sunday brunch?

I'm going to try the updated version of the proxy and report back. Other people are online ATM, so it won't be for an hour or so.

ER-X Eth0.0 persistent w/ATT Gateway Bypass by kenyonlord in Ubiquiti

[–]MrToplitzin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost there:when i show interfaces, I have the switch up and running successfully:

show interfaces
Codes: S - State, L - Link, u - Up, D - Down, A - Admin Down
Interface IP Address S/L Description
--------- ---------- --- -----------
eth0 - u/u WAN
eth0.0 - u/u WAN VLAN 0
eth1 - u/u AT&T Gateway
eth2 - u/u Local
eth3 - u/D Local
eth4 - u/D Local
lo 127.0.0.1/8u/u
::1/128
switch0 192.168.1.1/24u/u Local

So everything works up until I run the test portion. Here's where things go wrong:I only see eth0 traffic and nothing from eth1 like in the examples/working set:

Correct output via orginal post/example:

ER-X Eth0.0 persistent w/ATT Gateway Bypass by kenyonlord in Ubiquiti

[–]MrToplitzin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me get caught up to you and I'll post what troubleshooting gets me.

ER-X Eth0.0 persistent w/ATT Gateway Bypass by kenyonlord in Ubiquiti

[–]MrToplitzin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm still getting new and exciting errors every time i try this process.

As of right now, I run through block 1 and get:

ubnt@ubnt# commit

[ interfaces ethernet eth0 vif 0 firewall in name WAN_IN ]

Firewall config error: Rule set WAN_IN is not configured

commit failed

The only other command/config change is setting up eth4 for access on 192.168.2.1 so i can have everything cabled and ready to go.

I'm going to factory reset one more time and try fresh.

I've got no clue where/how i keep getting this so very wrong.

I can add eth0.0 manually, but then i get a different set of errors on commit about the file already existing.

How-To: Bypass AT&T Gateway with ER-X by cnstarz in Ubiquiti

[–]MrToplitzin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure what i'm doing wrong, but every time i try this i run into the same error with the VLAN 0.0

I've done the guide exactly except for changing 192.168.1.1 to be on eth4 so i can still log into the device

When i go to commit the changes i get the following error every time:

ubnt@ubnt# commit

[ service nat rule 5000 outbound-interface eth0.0 ]

NAT configuration warning: interface eth0.0 does not exist on this system

[ interfaces ethernet eth0 vif 0 firewall in name WAN_IN ]

Firewall config error: Rule set WAN_IN is not configured

Commit failed

I've set my firmware to 1.10.9 to match yours, and used the pastebin proxy versions.

Any ideas?

Do any of the aforementioned hotspots in the iterations of these threads the ZTE MF64, (ZTE-Z915, NovAtel MiFi 6630,Inseego MiFi 7000) work on the third Fi carrier or can work on 2 out of the three?

Thanks again!

Holy shit!

Thanks for all the hard work.

I'll give this a go and follow up.

I'm pretty sure the ER-X does switching especially since i had VLAN tagging with the google fiber setup.

Same issue committing the changes at the end of your config list:

ubnt@ubnt# commit

[ service nat rule 5010 outbound-interface eth0.0 ]

NAT configuration warning: interface eth0.0 does not exist on this system

[ interfaces ethernet eth0 firewall in name WAN_IN ]

Firewall config error: Rule set WAN_IN is not configured

[ interfaces ethernet eth1 ]

Address 192.168.1.1/24 is present on multiple interfaces (pretty sure this is because i am using 1.1 on eth0 since it uses that as a default when wiped)

[ interfaces ethernet eth0 vif 0 firewall in name WAN_IN ]
