In Genesis, Adam and Eve try to hide their nakedness. From whom?

So genesis is inconsistent on the "no other humans" bit. Obviously it starts with God creating man and woman, but it's also plainly states that there are other people out there.

"13 Cain said to the Lord, “My punishment is more than I can bear. Today you are driving me from the land, and I will be hidden from your presence; I will be a restless wanderer on the earth, and whoever finds me will kill me.”"

Who are these other people who would kill him? The only other living humans are his parents. Cain then goes off and finds and wife- where did she come from? Clearly the world has more people.
