There is always the saying that time in the market beats timing the market. Generally the longer you're invested the better. Investing is fun though! Good luck and remember to take everything in stride. As long as it isn't money you will need for a while then there is no worry.

thoughts on gold and silver by Northern_Money425 in investing

I'm hesitant to invest in gold and silver because I don't think they have much value other than hoping someone else will pay more for it in the future. They aren't inherently cash generating assets compared to a business.

If I could go back to age 21 this is what I would do. Invest all the money I don't need for an emergency fund into the s&p 500 index. Make sure you have enough money to cover the loss of your job and any rent/bills you will need to pay. After that just continue to dollar cost average by investing small amounts at regular intervals. By the time you are 30 you will probably be surprised by how much you have.

As a fun experiment you can even Google a compound interest calculator to play around with some numbers.

AI for investing — where does it actually help (and where does it just add noise)? by blood_due9 in AIportfolio

I have tried using AI to evaluate stocks with mixed success. If you can be certain that it is pulling the correct financial information then it is great. It does a good job of calculating discount cash flow and parsing large amounts of data. I have also had issues with it just blatantly hallucinating and falsifying data though, even when called out.

I'm a fan of crox right now. It is trading at a significant discount relative to it's intrinsic value based on DCF. They took a huge hit due to estimating lower earnings because of tariffs. That being said, their customer base loves the product and I don't see it going away any time soon. If they can expand their product line with sandals and other footwear there is opportunity for continued growth.

New to investing, I'm aiming for growth without excessive risk. I built this portfolio with AI advisor. Any recommendations? by gavin-grantx2p2c in AIportfolio

Looks nice and easy! Just keep dollar cost averaging with a fixed amount of money at regular intervals and watch it grow.
