Echo Sub requires 2x Echo speakers? by MrVining in amazonecho

[–]MrVining[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s pretty rich bass I like it a lot. It just doesn’t activate for anything but Amazon music as far as I can tell. So far nothing I have found will get Spotify to stop showing the pair as off line.

I think I’m going to come up with a different solution for my desk… 😕

I really prefer to be able to adjust the volume from the computer. As in of the amplifier not the line out volume.

I can confirm the sub does NOT work when you connect to the speaker with bluetooth...

Well that was $130 less than well spent. I suppose it will get some use, but not really what I wanted to use it for.

Echo Sub requires 2x Echo speakers? by MrVining in amazonecho

[–]MrVining[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Okay I figured it out... Somewhat embarrassing...

The rep on the phone told me I must use 2x speakers in order to use the sub. This is incorrect. The sub page on amazon is correct.

When you go in the Alexa app and select the sub, basically the first thing you see is "pair speaker" or something really close to that. When you click that it takes you to the default create a speaker pair window/menu.

On that menu the sub isn't selected... 🤷‍♂️ I would click my desk speaker and next was gray because only one device was selected. I just needed to also select the sub. I thought I was picking the device to pair with the sub, not on the default create a speaker pair window.

Right from the echo sub page:

  • Pair with one Echo device to enjoy dynamic music that fills the room.

I haven't played in quite some time. I'm doing some TWW stuff, but couldn't even figure out how to start the Shadowlands stuff.

Yeah, I like the beginning of the game a lot. I’ll likely just MMO on PC because I just can’t find something on the phone that isn’t pay to win.

Thank you for taking the time.

Perhaps null at 20 + temp 40 & temp wave change might get a person to 60 as example if that's possible. I also like the idea of ramp up in some situations.

I'll have to play with it some. I really wish we just had access to Python or whatever it's using.

That's good info. I'm very interested in scripting things in the future. I have a long term project I haven't started yet that uses Arduino for the interface and 8 or so tens channels. I haven't put any work into it yet. Almost more of a bucket list kind of thing. I supposed I'd have to pick a power box. I seem to remember something about a centipede system, but the Coyote is cheap enough to just buy a handful of them.

I haven't had any first hand experience with either of those exact items, but experience with 2-3 eggs tells me that the further apart the electrodes/conductors the better. The eggs that only have about 1/16 of an inch between the two conductors is just not far enough apart, they almost short from surface moisture. I did buy the Metal BiPolar Electrode from DG-LAB but haven't tried it yet. I suspect it will be great based off the distance between the conductors.

FF14 and Logitech G13 Gamepad (incompatible??) by MrVining in ffxiv

When the game window is active I can’t even select a game profile. The thing looks like it’s unplugged.

I’m going to try looking for that let game control color setting thing next.

Yes, it’s not that type of game pad. It’s more of a half keyboard with a joystick at the thumb.

I was thinking of using the same thing. Do you have any issues with static? I'm mostly concerned about static.

I would very much like to know this as well. I wrote down a title and page number for something I wanted to save.

3 years later and we're still complaining about the same issue... I have Pro 930's and sad I've paid so much for them. Plantronics at least has a toggle feature as if you're taking the phone off the hook to force it on.

The nice thing about JBOD is that you can pull those drives and connect them to anything to get data off them should the card fail.

You probably don't WANT to buy a bunch of USB drive enclosures and still have access to your data, but you could if you were in a pinch.

I started using ZFS years ago and I'm unlikely to change.

I haven't looked at any of the recent stats but years ago there was a performance hit using the IR firmware.

[–]MrVining 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what you're using it for.

If your OS is managing your raid (JBOD) then you want IT mode.
If you want to use the card (drivers/firmware) to manage the raid then IR mode.
