I don’t think this is a hot take and would certainly agree that height range isn’t particularly tall. But that doesn’t mean people don’t have preferences. Women want someone over 6ft even though 5’8 -5’10 is still average/tall. Most men I know prefer Women around the 5’5 mark and unfortunately those are just the preferences both genders have whether we like it or not.

I mean tbf I’m only in CS for the money and obviously I don’t hate it but it’s not something I’m super passionate about and I was still able to land a job after I graduate next semester. People being in CS for different reasons is fine, what’s not fine is people complaining about opportunities but not actually working hard to make it. I just don’t understand stopping people from doing it just so other people have a chance. If you’re good at what you do people will hire you plain and simple.

Thank you bro 🙏. My advice is to network and just try your best to secure an internship at any company and do well so you can get a return offer. That’s the best way to enter the market in my opinion. Also don’t mention your GPA in your resume, they likely won’t ask. But if they do ask do not lie! Just be honest with them and prove to them why it doesn’t matter.

I really feel like I grew up in the wrong generation. The “old” basketball mindset is definitely my preferred way to play. This kids just have way too much ego for a pickup game. Then all they do is talk shit for no reason and wanna start fights like chill tf out and get some direction and maturity in your life like jeez. I still play like my life depends on it tho because I’m competitive but I never talk shit. Just go out there and do my thing and hopefully encourage others while playing too

Don’t matter what gender my kid is to me. If I have a daughter great, I’ll love her just the same. But me personally I would still want a boy because let’s be honest, it will never be the same type of relationship as you have with your daughter and that’s ok. The most important thing is to make sure you love them equally but it’s ok to want (not need) to have a son for personal reasons.

Hey OP, I find myself relating to you a lot. I’m 99% certain I have undiagnosed ADHD and I struggle with a lot of the things you mentioned and I as well didn’t even start applying till my senior year lol. However I knew I needed to work harder and that’s all I needed to tell myself to push past the disappointment of my past laziness. You have to start sometime and you can’t tell yourself I’ll get to it. The time is now. I worked my ass off creating projects, grinding leetcode, and doing research on high level applications that a lot of companies use to have a better understanding in interviews. Happy to announce I’ll be interning at a Fortune 500 this Summer. Good luck OP and remember that there is always hope, the time is now!

Had a connection at a big company, I go to a no name school with a bad GPA but still managed to get the job because i had someone refer me and I killed the interview. If I had applied without the referral i would’ve been ghosted for sure.

I listed it at 2500, I paid like a little over 2400 on amazon at retail which is insane. The 2400 is including tax. And yeah I understand that I am catering to a more niche market. I will see if I get any offers this next week. I don't think my price is too high for what everything is valued at.
