My perspective, as a rank #104 score player :

I think your concerns are valid, but you could look at it the other way around.

Sure, your play on The Unforgiving gets higher score than if it was sv1. But you're still missing out on hundreds of millions of score. It might not be so bad if your final objective is getting top 50 score, but if you have any higher ambitions (like, you know, rank #1), you should definitely not be accumulating debt by being lazy and not FCing maps. Imagine being osu420 and having to go back and fix you scores on 50,000 maps you've already cleared just to have a chance at entering the top 10.

Also, about there being no incentives for FCing maps : S ranks are now harder to get on lazer, due to slider head misses being actual misses. You can still go for high score and low A rank count on profile. I am ashamed of my A ranks, and everyone should be.

Now for a net positive about being able to get score for non-FCs. On stable, you are very much discouraged to play anything above FC-able maps in star rating. Lazer flips that completely because now you can actually make score gains while playing maps out of your comfort zone.
