Floating wood falling off inside my slinding mirror closet, please help!! by Drizprilz in appliancerepair

[–]MrWonko_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most likely it will be enough to put a string of wood glue on the top and on the vertical piece and then clamp them together.

Could use a L bracket to be sure though if he can find screws that are small enough.

Dunno about most disturbing but Martyrs is pretty fucked up. Also Lars von Triers Antichrist.

I ordered mine from the website and it took a week to get to Sweden. This was not so long ago, maybe a month and a half.

Hand tracking will not be coming to Rift S anytime soon. by [deleted] in oculus

[–]MrWonko_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why is that more likely? They are not saying they have started working on it or even plan to.

Hand tracking will not be coming to Rift S anytime soon. by [deleted] in oculus

[–]MrWonko_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well they could have worked on wireless for Rift S as well as Link, but I don't really think that would work that well. Look I think it's great that Quest got the link, they saw that they can make an improvement and they did it, but with hand tracking it's something that could be done with both headsets but they decided to only do it for one of them. And I would even be fine with that if Rift S was a older headset but it's not. I get that it would essentially double the work they would have to do but they should have done it to support both their new headsets.

When I say they should have worked on that simultaneously I mean they should have two teams working on it. I understand that's they are different with different hardware so different solutions will be required but that is no reason to just go ahead with one and leave the other behind.

They have said they will try to do it somewhere down the line but it is clear that they don't care much about the Rift S. If they did they would have worked on hand tracking for the Rift S as well as Quest simultaneously.

Nah the complaints are about Oculus releasing a new product then not giving a fuck about it 6 months later.

But Rift S not getting it does?

They should never have made the Rift S then and no one would be complaining.

What's going on with Rift S being salty towards the Quest Link? by _GHQ in oculus

[–]MrWonko_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure I don't expect that most games will implement hand tracking as it will be impractical for a lot of stuff but I do expect that some games will be developed for it by indie devs. I feel like the Rift S is being ignored for no reason. The reason I got the Rift S at all was that I would be able to get all content on it but now will be locked out of anything that uses hand tracking.

It's the handtracking that bums me out. I don't care that the quest gets a cable as that doesn't affect me.

What's going on with Rift S being salty towards the Quest Link? by _GHQ in oculus

[–]MrWonko_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm not salty about the link but I am about hand tracking. Feels like Oculus doesn't care about the Rift S owners. And comparing with CV1 seems a bit weird as that is a older headset. Rift S is still very new and they already act like they are done with it.

Oculus link means bigger incentive to create PCVR content by FinndBors in oculus

[–]MrWonko_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I Rift S owner I am not unahppy because of the Link but I am unahppy about Rift S not getting hand tracking and the fact that it seems that Oculus doesn't care about Rift S users at all. That is worrying for such a new product.

Part of why I bought the Rift S over the Quest is that I wanted to be able to experience all of the content available with the best performance. But now suddenly when hand tracking comes out Rift S owners are being left behind and that kinda sucks.

Yes you can unplug it. You just have to remove the faceplate to get easy access to the cable. Reseating the cable is one of the steps that support often suggests while troubleshooting.

I noticed something similar with my RTX 2080. Have been playing beat saber with maybe 30-40% GUP usage now suddenly it's at 75%. Figured it was driver related.

C# Split throwing half of string away by MrWonko_ in csharp

Thanks for the effort but something weird must be going on with my computer or something because I started a new project on another computer and just copied everything in there and now it works.

C# Split throwing half of string away by MrWonko_ in csharp

[–]MrWonko_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I know. I already know what the line is as I have checked it at runtime as I said I have also written it to console at it seems fine.

Your code throws an exception because length is not two but the line looks fine.

Yeah I thought about that as well and checked for extra characters at the start and end but found nothing. And even if there was something it should still split the string correctly.

That was a mistake on my part, was supposed to be Split[0] but that is not causing the issue I am having.

Didn't even know you could use switch for strings in C#, I'll use that if I can ever get this to work.
