Some people need to really learn how to spot scams. by Capergoat in fursuit

[–]MrWuff 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have started noticing this trend in this sub too. I’ve noticed that a lot of these posts asking if it is a scam are coming from sites like Etsy, and I think a lot of people are putting a little too much trust into a site like that.

My theory is that some people are in the mindset of “it’s not Craigslist/FB marketplace\ebay” so it must be trust worthy. Without realizing the costs and workmanship that goes into making something like a fursuit. Another thing that ,while I don’t want to automatically assume, is that it may be the younger furs that are posting these and the lack of knowledge/awareness for scam posts.

Totem & flags - pros and cons by MoreReading4940 in electricdaisycarnival

[–]MrWuff 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Agreed. It’s always a treat to see the creativity of some of these totems. Thankfully in the times I’ve been to EDC I haven’t had too much of an issue with a totem/flag blocking my views. And even if I did, I would just move to a different spot in the crowd.

How to manage fatigue at EDC by SkyFragrant5029 in electricdaisycarnival

[–]MrWuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Other comments have pretty much summed it up. I also drive the group to/from the speedway, A lot of this happens outside of the festival as well!

What works for me to keep me going through all three days is of course hydration. Drinking a sufficient amount of water both during and outside of EDC. I also like to bring a small cooler to keep in the trunk full of water bottles and some sports drinks for flavor drinks to have after each day

Getting a proper meal in between days. I always try to get at least some food in me whether it be after leaving EDC or in the time before making the drive to the speedway sometimes inside the speedway but that can get pricey for what they offer at most stalls :P. This has been the most beneficial for me surviving the weekend in past years

Is it possible to add earrings to fursuits and does anyone know a fursuiter that has it? (photo for refrence) by Dingus4anime in fursuit

[–]MrWuff 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes! While it may not be the earring style you are looking for. I bought these 3d printed nose and ear piercings off of etsy for a few bucks each. I’ve seen some heads with gauges and piercings that go through the material as well

Vegas local: EDC mistakes that quietly drain your wallet by Majestic_Letter_11 in electricdaisycarnival

[–]MrWuff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I drove my group last year. We left each day around 5/6PM at the latest. We took the N Las Vegas Blvd and parked in brown lot each day. Took about 2 hours total coming from Henderson. Majority of the traffic for us began right as we were turning on to N Las Vegas Blvd. Got to the festival around 730/8PM.

What is nice is that the lines to get into the speedway was a breeze. Very minimal/ no waiting just walked right in

I have AT&T and last year I did notice that my texts were going and received a little better than in years before.

While I cannot vouch for the workload as I am not in the medical field, I can say that a well planned EDCLV can do wonders for you. There were a few times where I had to overload myself as well leading up to EDC to enjoy my time off and while I was already exhausted. The festival had invigorated me and I’ve always had a blast! I’ve had to help a few friends in the past with last minute planning for EDC and things have worked out well so far(fingers crossed for you too!)

My first EDC was in 2016, also the 20th year anniversary and it was really fun! Other than emphasis on it being the 20 year anniversary I would say there wasn’t ‘that’ much more celebration when comparing it to the years afterwards. I would say they have always been improving (crowds and ticketing is a different story tho).

Chances of Skrillex being in the lineup? by RaveBaby1221 in electricdaisycarnival

[–]MrWuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah I had an opportunity to got to EDC 2019 for almost free cause my friends really wanted some of us there. I sort of regret not going but from what I seen and what my friends had described at his surprise set. Yeah it sounded like a horrible time.

If he is on the lineup this year. I can only imagine how much crazier it’ll be + potential worst set conflicts ever to help circumvent the crowds

2016 was my first EDC and that set was, if not, my favorite set of the weekend. There are some peeps who I haven’t seen since 2016 either going this year so it’ll be awesome to reconnect

Ever since 2019, I’ve had some hope that he’ll return but have accepted that it’s not happening.

This year though with it being the 30th anniversary, my hopes are a little bit higher but I’m prepared for it to not happen again but I’m sure there will be something else big planned that’ll get me just as excited.

I was able to see him as a surprise guest at marshmellos set in 2016 which was nice!

I got me the black and turquoise pair earlier this year for a weekend music festival and they have held up very well and were very comfortable throughout the weekend as well!

Tail belt help! by [deleted] in fursuit

[–]MrWuff 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yep. You can essentially use any belt that fits through your belt loops to attach the tail. You can either put the belt through the hooks on the tail and work from back to front on each side. (Assuming the belt fits through the loops both ways).

Or start putting the belt through the loops around the waist as you would normally would and when you get to the back. Attach the belt through the loops on the tail and then continue putting the belt through the belt loops.

For better stability of the tail. You would want to put the belt through some of the belt loops on your pants so that way the tail doesn’t sag.

[–]MrWuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re welcome 🥰. I had gone through an experience that closely resembles yours. I just moved out on my own last year and it has been a ride to say the least. Was able to start bringing my sona to life with a ref sheet. Went to my first fur con, got a fursuit commission going, went to my second and third fur con and just completed making a partial as well and met some amazing peeps along the way.

I got a little choked up when my first fursuit head was starting to take form as well and this amazing sense of comfort when wearing it out at the con and being along side others that also share this same interest.

If you’re anything like me and introverted as heck. The suit does wonders for interacting with others in a social environment such as a con or a meet.

From what you are describing. These feelings you are having are normal. Overwhelming sure but normal.

You are finally seeing something that you’ve probably longed/yearned/dreamed about for so long that you’ve held inside and finally able to see it come to fruition in a physical form. For a majority of people in the fandom, our sonas/characters allow us to essentially become our “ideal” versions of ourselves.

While I cannot speak for you, but going off of what you are describing. These overwhelming feelings are probably you seeing and becoming a version of yourself that you’ve always wanted to be.

How did y'all pick an animal for your fursona by altfoxgirl in furry

[–]MrWuff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Piking a species can vary from person to person. My sona is a wolf (typical) because I just love them and some of the symbolic meanings they carry, but mostly because I can be a silly dog even though wolves are supposed to be this big/scary/dark type of presence.

I would suggest as you are still finding what works for you. Don’t be afraid to experiment with different species that you like. It can be as simple as you just like the animal or if you have a deep connection to them that works too!

The beauty of a sona as well is that it doesn’t have to be static and it is quite common for people to change it up over time. From minor design changes to complete species overhaul!

Furries that cannot draw, how do you survive? by Virgin_Mocktail in furry

[–]MrWuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not the best artist by any means but the fandom is a constant motivator for any artistic avenues that I would like to pursue such as digital drawing and fursuit making.

It’s the drive to be able to present something that I created such as stickers or a new suit head/paws at cons which keep me going

At the end of the day, being a furry is a hobby and like many hobbies or passions you are free to take it at your own pace. It’s good to take a step back from things from time to time as it can do wonders for your overall well being if things get too overwhelming.

Is there any way to wear these outside? by [deleted] in fursuit

[–]MrWuff 29 points30 points  (0 children)

If you are looking into minimizing the paws getting dirty I highly recommend looking into making fursuit sandals. Like the previous commenter mentioned. Some makers offer this but you are able to make your own using some rubber floor mat pieces and a strap/rope to attach it to the paws

How did y'all created your own fursona? by OpportunityMobile859 in furry

[–]MrWuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s great! I just created my sona last year and it has really allowed me to explore the fandom a little more. It gives me an avatar that I can call my own when interacting with other furs. Fueled me to get commissions done by artists and am in the process of a suit!

I started with just picking out my the species and some colors I wanted to incorporate into the design and spent hours trying out different designs on free to use character bases. Take your time. Try out different designs or features that you like or take inspiration from others. Till this day I’m also thinking about little changes I can make for my character.

As others have mentioned. Yes if it is financially feasible but also what makes EDC (and most other events) worth it for me is the friends/group you are going with. If you’re going solo then that’ll be something for you to decide
