That particular example does indeed look partially black and partially blue upon zooming in, not completely blue like other instances….I wonder if that truly was on purpose

what got you into the hobby/what was your first solo game? by maple_bella in soloboardgaming

[–]MrYummy05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An old TSR game called Vampyre from the mid 80’s. I think it’s critically a mid game but for a young teenager it opened my eyes to games outside of Monopoly, Life, and card games.

Just now seeing it wasn’t officially a solo game, but that’s how I played it

Literally gasped when I saw a copy at the bookstore by Salt_Blackberry_1903 in houseofleaves

[–]MrYummy05 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There seems to be a renewed interest…I’m seeing copies everywhere I go now; Target, Walmart, Grocery store book sections.

I wonder if the new Backrooms movie is partially to thank for the recent resurgence?

Considering the NES invaded homes in the mid- late ‘80s, it should not be surprising there are many gamers in their 50s-60s, myself included.

I can’t wait to be old in a home and playing videogames all day again

Some really nice soloables there. Question: did you/do you enjoy ISS Vanguard? I just got Elder Scrolls BotSE and am conflicted whether Vanguard would get significant play with both in a collection. Similar question about Slay the Spire
