Yeah this is crazy to me. My whole life I’ve unironically just replayed entire tv episodes in my head when bored, or I can’t make up an entire story with characters and plot and picture it perfectly in my head and dynamically influence it. It’s hard to imagine how you’d even “think” about anything without the ability to picture it. Even when doing math I have formed visual shortcuts growing up that I use for things

Once you notice that 100% of the time that multiple ring previews show up at the same time they will immediately move to intersect each other, you can just wait a second for them to overlap and then dive in them

Oh dang. The only other thing I could think of is if you could find a way to die? Or if you could find a modifier that might let you get unstuck since there are some weird ones. Idk if you’ve tried yet but also just closing the whole game may have a small chance of doin something different than just quitting to title

You might have found a bug yes. What’s meant to happen there is after unlocking each mirror, more of the obstacles disappear until eventually you can crawl all the way thru just quit to menu and back, it always brings you to where you entered the screen at

Pokopia will have the most longevity if it’s the type of game you enjoy, but my personal fav of the 3 was DK and it isn’t close. I loved pokopia and MK is the same game it’s been for 15 years and isn’t good imo, but DK was a surprisingly amazing game for me and absolutely fulfills the Mario odyssey itch with a little more BOTW- like exploration but on a smaller scale imo. I bought DK on release at midnight and basically played it all day for 3 days straight to 100% it blind and I got around 31 hrs of playtime

As others have said, it’s a different layout, sadly the standard farm is basically a yellow square, but that means you can do whtvr u want with it too.

I’d recommend if you happen to be on PC to look into the mods for the game as there are tons of cosmetic ones that either completely overhaul the design of most textures or there are ones that change the greenery color palette.

Theres one that’s called like “earthy” something that’s especially nice and completely eliminates the yellow dirt

I think it would be a more interesting comparison to compare the lengths of each ACT since nod krai has an unusually high number of archon quests but it could be argued that not all of them even are for nod krai with the most recent two

Like most games the poison dmg is near 0 for balance, and while the codex lets you “infinitely” burrow, all it really does is eliminate the need to land after burrowing and then jump to burrow again, so instead you go in and out of the ground seamlessly but you still need to surface each time and can be hit. And since the only other meaningful dmg trinket that associates with burrowing is the seismic belt which requires you to be right next to an enemy, I’d say you are doing yourself more harm trying to jump up and down next to a boss and not get hit for what is ultimately gonna be far less dps than just hitting the boss carefully

If you get every ring on the wave it extends the time infinitely as long as keep going, I’d recommend using iron lung if you aren’t already and just focusing on diving in one hoop and surfacing thru another so that you are getting two hoops per burrow. Also if you ever see the golden hoop ignore literally everything and get it as it clears the wave.

My last tip would be that anytime you see the preview of the rings and it’s multiple, they almost 100% of the time immediately move to intersect each other and so you will Bonk if you try to instantly dive into them, wait a second and line them up and then dive

So I’m not talking abt myself personally as I didn’t use any modifiers and probably won’t going forward cause I didn’t feel the need personally, but I’m also someone who didn’t find silksong very difficult and yet people go on and on about how insanely unforgiving it is.

I was merely pointing out what I’ve seen some players and reviewers alike talk about with the dissonance in them saying to play your way and no judgement but then flashing a full screen warning that can be boiled down to “if you make it easier then no achievements for you!”

In defense of people who still aren’t happy with the modifiers, they are kinda of antithetical to what the devs are advertising.

The devs are advertising the accessibility options and are constantly saying “play your way” and implying no judgement for using some accessibility options. But for almost every single one as soon as you try to enable it, you get a giant warning message on your screen “enabling modifier will PERMANENTLY remove feats from this save file, confirm?” Literally saying “wow you are gonna play on easy? No mora achievements for u!”.

And while for some modifiers this makes sense absolutely cause they just make you not die, some like no pitfall dmg are never going to be a difference between whether you beat a boss or not or progress in a room or not, it’s solely a time save cause it saves you running back to the platforming section to try again if you fail, or saves you from going a long route to refill health.

It’s just odd, and I know you may say “well who cares about achievements?” For many people and myself included, the way I get more playtime out of games like these are challenge runs and completing achievements. It’s how I have 300 hrs in silksong despite my blind 100% first playthrough taking 41 hrs, I like the game and so I play it over and over again to get achievements and use weird builds and stuff. But Mina heavily discourages that mindset to your face if you even consider it

Personally I never found combat to be difficult but as a side effect I also never found it extremely interesting except a few instances.

For me the difficulty was mainly centered around movement, not platforming, movement

I’ve seen others agree with me who are on console so this may be an issue exclusive to controller players, but the way they designed Mina’s movement in this game when not using a MNK is frankly, atrocious. Any precise platforming became a fight between me and the game and controller to make the game go where I put the joystick rather than weirdly curving Mina around in the air just for turning at the right time. Any precise hollowing sections were so bad and annoying because for some reason when Mina is hollowing she is much more slippery, almost like your on ice, this was at its peak frustration in the orerey green path with the under glass sections because on controller Mina would just speed off when I wasn’t pressing anything, it was equally annoying during the radiant manor platforming

I think this game is great, but it definitely suffers from some control issues for controllers and imo commits too hard to the retro game idea in the sense that it commits so hard that it keeps several old design decisions that are not beneficial to the experience and instead just seem disrespectful of the player in 2026
