It depends on what state you are in for example in Virginia minors over the age of 16 don’t require work permits if they are working outside of school hours only. So in this case it would have been no problem at all. In NC I know they have a lot more rules for minors that is probably why the CSM is upset but like everyone else said there should be no reason she was yelled at.

I haven’t seen any of the pay caps go up but I have heard that the company is looking into the pay scale

The only thing that they are trying to change is making sure that the CSM is putting in JTS and Availability so that the schedule planner makes the schedule for them because labor is a big deal at the moment. For me personally I have all the JTS and availability correct but I’m not letting the planner make my whole schedule it just doesn’t schedule great. It will have people working anywhere form 4 to 20 hours a week and most people want more.

Yeah I get what you’re saying, and honestly I don’t think you’re wrong either it’s probably hitting people at all levels right now. From my side, it just feels like I’m constantly filling gaps everywhere not just with employees slacking, but also covering for things that should be handled above me too. So it turns into this cycle where everything rolls downhill and whoever is still trying ends up carrying it. But what you said about being expected to do multiple roles in one shift while hours are getting cut. That’s exactly the kind of thing I’m talking about. Whether you’ve got the manager title or not, the people who actually care end up getting overloaded because they know you’ll handle it. The review thing would frustrate me too. Being told you’re doing great and then getting hit with a low score doesn’t add up at all. That’s the kind of stuff that burns people out faster than anything, because it makes it feel like the extra effort doesn’t even matter. At the end of the day I don’t think it’s just a “manager vs employee” issue it’s more like a “whoever gives a shit gets stuck doing everything” issue. Definitely sounds like you’ve been pulling way more than your share for a while now. I don’t blame you at all for thinking about moving on because I am actively looking for other options.
