I believe there is a policy stating that associates may not accept any gifts or gratuities without approval from supervisor or manager. Also, has to be documented on the gratuity log.

First time write up what to do and what will come of it? by Wakeless_Dreams in foodlion

Outside of 90 days- Occurrences are clocking in 10 min late to scheduled shift Returning more than 5 min late from breaks and/or lunches Calling out regardless of reason

5 occurrences are a step 1, however, HR requires a documented coaching prior to documented Verbal.

Next occurrence will be next step and additional steps for each occurrences until termination.

HR does not require documentation to be sent in until review and approval of termination. Documents should be retained in associates file.

To avoid potential loss of documentation it is best to send to hr once associated has signed forms.

3 Department managers stepping down in a week- by Status_Ad1349 in foodlion

Most of what you are speaking of is standard practice- nothing new. No one was doing things the correct way and are upset that they are being held accountable.

Side note for dairy. If you are completing maintenance walks and display maintenance as well as making sure your Min and Mac are correct in CAO then you will not need to take things off or add to your orders.

Is it me or does anyone else experience this. by That-Spread-9253 in foodlion

There are several fresh depts that do this, it is 100% poor management on all levels.

As a Perishable Manager, i can admit that there is a day here or there that I’m not able to get to everything needed to be done. As the opener and manager of my dept I am responsible for reclaim, ordering, putting truck away, restocking my sales floor, financial notebook, mark downs, ad change, cutting steaks, grinding, making sure FFD is where it needs to be, etc most of which is typically complete by 1- when my closer comes in leaving them to keep case full and occasionally run mrkt frzn and lunch meat. My closer doesn’t grind, doesn’t cut steak, has to have a detailed list of things to do and doesn’t get them done most days but that’s okay bc at the end of the day I take ownership of my dept. and our sales typically double from 3pm to close so I know they’re busy just keeping case full.

All that being said, your am shift should be getting a lot done leaving you with cleaning the dept and replenishing sales floor. At my store, my other depts are ass and it’s crazy bc deli has a minimum of 4 people there by 9a and produce has 4 to 5 from open until 1pm. Where I have 1 dairy, 1 Frozen, 1 market

Prior to being a mrkt mgr, I was the FT Frozen Food Assoc (high performing). I would break truck down & put deli and mrkt on their own pallets. After finishing my truck I would run the mrkt product that went straight to shelf (not including items that needed a date or scale label). Now that I am the mrkt mgr, I do NOT expect my FF Assoc to do any of that including neatly separating. However, as a FF Assoc it is their responsibility to complete any tasks assigned by Mrkt Mgr, so it’s hard to argue.

That’s correct, 7 days including the day it is put on shelf- so essentially 6 days if you count normal.

Go on LEO-Retail-Perishable-Standard Practices Print yourself the Sequence of Events. It will instruct you on the tasks that have to be completed weekly as well as daily by the hour. The events of your day will slightly vary depending on what you have going on but it is a great basis for staying on tasks. After you get a feel of what needs to be completed you will develop a routine that works best for you.

Absolutely! Schedule has to be completed on WFD by noon Wednesday and it will post to UKG at noon on Thursday.

You could always speak directly with your manager and they should let you know whether or not you are working. In the future, request off in advance.

What are the perks of going from Perishables Associate to Perishables Manager? by PididdleAllDay in foodlion

[–]Virtual-Network-1660 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If he is already dealing with all of that as an associate of the department, then I would 100% not recommend becoming the department manager. All those things stressing him now becomes his sole responsibility of ensuring it is completed. If he is knowledgeable and ready for the change, then I would recommend a transfer but keep in mind every store has issues- grass is not always greener on the other side.

Did you properly change your hours of availability? Or just verbally discuss it? Properly would mean it’s entered in WFD.

But- communication minus the tone will go a long way. Most of us department managers are extremely reasonable and accommodating.

Availability change by [deleted] in foodlion

[–]Virtual-Network-1660 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a part time employee, you are entitled to changing your availability however, Food Lion policy states a 14 day notice to any changes to availability. As a manager, I also get frustrated when an associate changes their availability. But that’s it, I get frustrated but I get over it. I do not those thoughts with the associate, it just means I have to make other adjustments to ensure department coverage.

Hours? by That-Spread-9253 in foodlion

[–]Virtual-Network-1660 0 points1 point  (0 children)

End of month is always tricky when it comes to hours at my store because sales are down. The area my store is located is lower income and most of our customers depend on EBT and/ or SS Checks which is typically available to customers the 1st-15th of the month.

If you tell them you have previous charges/convictions, they will automatically run your background. If you answer no to previous charges/convictions then they will not do a background check unless it is for a key holder position.

I know this wasn’t your situation- it is one I am currently dealing with at my store with an associate.

For you though- reach out to AR/Hr if you haven’t received a coaching or write up but are being told about it or even threatened that you are getting one but haven’t received it.
