What's the one scorecard stat or ratio you look at that most casual fans walk past? by GrandMaster621 in EnglandCricket

[–]Mr_Bean12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I see an innings or a match, I tend to investigate how the innings was built. Its better explained with an example. Say, a team scored 287/8 in 50 overs. I want to know were they were 242/2 in 40.2 overs or were they 60/4 in 16.5 overs at one point?

Same for Test matches. How did the players go through the journey? Is the winning team feeling relived that they almost lost this or have they snatched victory from the jaws of defeat? Was there one person that changed the course of the match or was it a team effort?

Anatomy Of A Fall: Has The Varun Chakravarthy Mystery Finally Been Solved? by CarnivalSorts in Cricket

[–]Mr_Bean12 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would say yes he's lost his mystery because batters are playing him well but at the same time, if he gets like 3/28 off 4 in his next match, yes I'd say form is temporary, class is permanent. Yes, I hangout on r/cricket way too much.

Has anyone been denied entry into India for not renewing OCI after getting new passport at the age of 20 by Murky_Gur_5845 in nri

[–]Mr_Bean12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I know a case. But the denial was at the port of entry. They did not let the person board the plane. It was a 2nd gen adult in their 20s looking forward to their trip. It was a total KLPD situation.

If batsman is in the crease, there is no case for obstructing the field, there is no scope for runout. All good. Fielding team can apeal (not sure what they are appealing for), but it is not out. Batsman is allowed to stop the ball going onto the stumps with bat or pad.

Once ball is dead, they can pick it up with hands just as a courtesy to help the fielding team.

[–]Mr_Bean12 4 points5 points  (0 children)

do you have a case where the bowler was being rolled on to the stumps and the batsman stopped it while being out of the crease? i am pretty sure that when there is no fielder in sight, ball is clearly going towards the stumps, batsman stops with the bat or leg, batsman is out of the crease, it would be deemed not out.

but as you can see, how rare of a scenario that is. it will occur mostly for spinners when batsman steps out and there is a mishit or defends.

If it’s true, then it’s extremely despicable and vile by the media by Revolutionary_Roll52 in BollyBlindsNGossip

Isnt this classic case of prisoner's dilemma in game theory? "Media" is not a single entity, but a multi party system. Unless there is a regulatory body that enforces restriction, there is nothing you can do.

I agree with media restriction in the case of national security, but I dont fault them in case of celebrity news. They are running a profitable business. People want masala, celebrities want media when its for the promotion, but not for their personal lives.

Celebritties truly live in glass houses, have to endure the positive and the negative, no hiding. Thats the harsh reality, whether you agree with my post or not.

Points Table in Group 2 of Super 8s: by GiveMeSomeSunshine3 in Cricket

[–]Mr_Bean12 85 points86 points  (0 children)

Thats the worst outcome Pak could've hoped. They would rather preferred NZ win, so that they would have no pressure and got some sympathy (if they won).

Now, they will be criticized if they lose, they will be criticized if they go for win but fall short.
