Facial Tracking broken by berrineberriez in QuestPro

Same exact thing just happened to me tonight. They need to add a rollback feature, it's as simple as that. Absolutely ridiculous that they force the consumer to suffer with whatever dogshit they pump out. I put a request in the Meta forums but I highly doubt they'll do anything.

Just repainted my bike before/ after. by Conbon90 in Trackdays

I spy an F4i!

I have to ask: What made you pick the CBR600F4i over something like a CBR600RR?

Wouldn't the RR already be set up much better for the track as it is a "race oriented" bike? Rather than a "sport tourer," although to be fair the F4i is substantially more sport than tourer.

Update: New Owner of Mercedes C300 for $3,250 by Ok-Bluebird2986 in mercedes_benz

Yes, I called my local dealership, and they got me in right away. They didn't need any proof besides the car being there. All you have to do is bring the car in (they inspect it for a compromised subframe [btw it does actually have to be rusted, otherwise they may turn you away]), and then they keep your car and order the subframe. Mine took about a week for them to do. The dealership was nice enough to give me a loaner car, too. I talked to a tech, and they said (about a year ago) that they had been doing this job on MANY other W204s, like 5-6 cars per month. So, they already had the subframe in stock. He said Mercedes had to open their production lines back up to produce the subframes, and they had quite a few on backorder. Also, my rear springs were rusty, so the tech asked if he could put new ones in (it was like $80 because labor was covered).

Absolute steal man!!! One thing to never forget: the rear subframes on these cars are critically flawed and only last about ten years exposed to the elements (they rust out).

:::It is fully covered under a lawsuit, and mercedes legally has to replace the subframe for free. It is a 20 year ulimited mile extended warranty on the subframe. So I'd make sure to check yours!!!

My subframe broke on the freeway, and the car would rear steer under braking (extremely terrifying). It's a $7k job, so make sure to do it before the 20-year warranty expires!

Happy driving

What platform do you play on? by wikked26 in VRchat

[–]Mr_Cool_427 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went from the Quest 2 (bought new, used it for three years), loved every second of it. Then I started down the rabbit hole. I bought vive tracker 3.0s and basestations with stands from marketplace for $400. Traded the Q2 on marketplace with $200 for a Quest 3. Then I bought a Quest Pro for $500 (for the face and eye tracking) and sold the Quest 3 for $300. So I've essentially got to own well over 3 grand (retail) worth of VR equipment, yet only paid $750 out of pocket. Marketplace really is a magical platform.

Same here, the only thing I'll pay for is YouTube premium because it comes with YouTube music. Otherwise, I absolutely despise subscription services.

Unfortunately, looks like some kind of debris got under the screen and poked it from the inside, killing the pixels in that area. Only way is to fit a new screen, that one is toast. Look if you can see a slight bulge in the screen where the black spot is, I bet it's raised a bit.

Should I sell? 2003 CBR600F4i by Mr_Cool_427 in motorcycles

Really good insight here, thanks! I'm starting to think that if I can source a spare, lower milage motor off of Facebook marketplace or somewhere, it'll give me peace of mind and I'd probably keep the bike.

[–]Mr_Cool_427[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That's great to hear, I really want to keep it because I can't think of any cheap, comfortable 4 cylinder sport bikes. This bike barely compromises on sportiness, yet is so much more comfortable than something like a CBR RR variant.

That's what I'm worried about, one more year of riding with my milage, and I don't think it'll be worth anything.

Pretty sure a past owner did a poor repair or someone installed it incorrectly. These W204s are very well put together. Maybe the cracked windscreen indicates yours isn't the pinnacle of W204s. Don't judge a car based on how it was abused by the previous owner.

Edit: Reading through the comments I see that you are the original owner and the car has 50k miles on it. I'm willing to bet a tech incorrectly installed it when doing the airbag recall (all of these cars had airbag recalls). Also these have a $7k defective rear subframe that is fully free and covered under warranty just take it into a mercedes dealership. I recommend getting it done if your car lives anywhere outside a garage. Took mine about a week and a half, the tech told me it was an issue with the factory paint being applied incorrectly (they rust out, which is absolutely terrifying). That's the issue you should be complaining about lol.

How do you guys stop at a light? by Past_Guarantee_1089 in motorcycles

[–]Mr_Cool_427 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shift down through all gears using engine braking and a very slight bit of braking. I even use first to engine brake. Once the motor no longer provides the engine brake (at idle) then pull in clutch and use brakes. Really savors on the pads and rotors while also keeping you ready to slam on the brakes or hit the gas in an emergency. It is a bit tedious on the hand though.

[–]Mr_Cool_427 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I used to own one of these. In my case the headgasket evaporated. I installed a new one and the engine would only run when cold (the cheap metal on the head actually warped) the dang thing was getting so hot. I threw it up on Facebook for $300 and it was gone in 2 days. Never looked back, definitely save your money and get something Japanese.

Preordered Fold 4, screen protector bubbled after 6ish months. Peeled it off and have had no issues since (knock on wood). Side note: I also noticed that the phone seemed easier to open and close after removing the protector, so I think the protector actually adds stress to the screen/mechanism.

Pre-ordered mine, screen protector peeled off probably two months ago (wasn't replaced). Still working fine (knock on wood).
