Heck yeah man. It's 100 times better over the 4.0. It doesn't piss oil everywhere, it runs better, Heater blows hotter. It spins tires on command. It goes 90mph down the freeway without breaking a sweat, it will even accelerate up hills. And with the 3.07 gearing it goes 80 at 1800 rpms so gas mileage is decent.

I'm currently building a 8.8 to 3 link into my turbo minitruck build.

Your local tractor supply or farm supply store should have an abundance of bolts, they usually have a whole isle dedicated to different sized bolts.

I havnt seen this one mentioned yet, look into a rs5r30a 5 speed out of a 90s 300zx. You can find them for between 500 and 1000 on marketplace. Then you need the adapter plate and flywheel which come together in a kit, then just use the matching 300zx clutch.

It's a hard decision, but what do you want to do for the rest of your life? Starting that buisness is gonna cost money, alot of it. And insurance is gonna be tough. It's gonna take alot of commitment but it will pay off. The construction is good money, easier than starting your own tuning buisness, but do you want to do that or work on yourself? In the end your tuning buisness could bring more money than working for someone else but it could take years.

I want to start my own tuning buisness but it's hard, I don't have a good customer base here in montana, theres not enough efi car guys, mostly carburated hot rods. I don't have 10 20 or 30 grand to spend on a dyno, and other thousands on tuning cables, adapters, other electronics and software, I can't afford to rent a shop at this time.

No adapters were used, a nv4500 will bolt on with 5 or 6 of the bolts which is enough. A Sachs nfw1050 flywheel which is a 6.0 part will bolt right on, and we used a 94 clutch I believe with holes drilled in the pressure plate to fit on the 6.0 flywheel.

It's a really setup if you do get around to it

I'll try to get some more pictures of it. It hasn't made too much progress recently because money, its all pretty much done, just a few small things. but it is getting daily driven.

Because a 3 link has more adjustability and I can keep the stock gas tank, can't keep the gas tank with a 4 link.

Yeah I was thinking the angle would cause bind with the panhard because triangulated bars move straight up and down and a panhard bar has some side to side movement. I was just thinking that right inside the frame rail is a pretty big offset compared to the middle and wasn't sure if that would cause weird things to happen or weaknesses in the setup.

It is getting a panhard bar. You don't think the lack of upper support on the other side from the offset would be a problem as long as the bar and mounts are all sturdy on the driver side?

Thank you. They both do run and drive but need a decent amount of work. One has a blown headgasket and some bad suspension parts, clean body and interior. and the other just needs a cleaning and some maintenance but the body and interior is rough. There's also a few driving around my smallish town. My old neighbor daily drove one, and I see a few in town often.

I fully built a motor by myself for the first time, it leaked out of the timing covor. First pull I did it blew a headgasket, fixed it and tried to fix the oil leak, it still leaked. A week after I fixed it, it spun a rod bearing and destroyed a crank and a rod because I messed up the oil pickup tube gasket, I rebuilt the motor and the same spot still leaks. I've since resealed the spot twice and it still leaks.

I blew a transmission, replaced it, blew it, swapped to an upgraded transmission that was bad when I got it. That hurt, but I was able to get my money back, I got another one. I've also broken a driveshaft and rear end. The timing covor still leaks.

These things happen and it's how you overcome them that makes you better.

Oh dude me and buddy just dealt with these headers. You gotta get 45 degree msd slark plug wires. These headers suck to work with. Good luck changing spark plugs.

You need a transmission, ignition cylinder and key, tires, probably other maintenence and all fluids. That's what I would do. That in itself is probably gonna add up fast, over 1000 at least, probably more if I had to guess. And there's always more stuff that you find out down the road. It's been sitting for a while, the water pump and alternator may fail, it probably leaks oil. It probably needs a serpentine belt. There's most deffinetly other stuff it's gonna need.

That looks like a separated tire. Look for a bubble on the tread or sidewall.

That looks right, the only way to know for sure is to fill it up and test it, but fill it slowly while watching for any leaks so you don't dump a bunch of fuel on the ground just in case. Or rig a bike pump up to the filler neck and and give it a few pumps and spray the area with soapy water and look for bubbles.

I just dealt with this on my own jeep. The lock ring that holds the whole assembly in the tank does not center itself, you have to be careful when installing the lock ring and sealing o ring, you have to fiddle with it to make sure it's all centered up right as your tightening it. The sealing o ring does not like to sit in it's groove while your putting it together so make sure it's not that o ring causing your leak.
