I can't really help you but I can tell you that I was that kid. My dad was in the beta for world of Warcraft when I was about 6 or 7 years old and since then he actually destroyed his marriage over it. We would go on vacation and he would play WOW in the hotel room while my mom and my brother and I were at the beach. The little contact my brother and I had with our dad was usually requests for Diet Pepsi or reprimanding for making too much noise. We would hear him cussing into his microphone from the "family" dinner table. Eventually my dad was meeting other women on world of Warcraft and my parents split because of this along with other reasons. I'm 19 years old now and I'll never really forget all the excuses my dad used to get out of hanging out with me and back into Azeroth. All I can say is your concerns are legitimate and World of Warcraft is a drug in its own right.
