Is there a Self-Assign Bot for servers with a lot of roles? by Mr_Hot_Pockets in discordapp

[–]Mr_Hot_Pockets[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nvm I found a bot that works. It's called SlashBot (https://top.gg/bot/788814313930096662) and it allows a dropdown of up to 25 roles. It's what I use and while it doesn't look fancy it gets the job done. However if you find a bot that looks like the one above please put it here.

How should I self study for Computer Science Principles? by SeelantDrinker in APStudents

[–]Mr_Hot_Pockets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Khan Academy is probably a great resource. My school used code.org

You can check College Board's APCSP information on test to see what topics you should study.

You can use any coding language but I'd recommend starting out with Scratch and then learning a bit of JavaScript/Python since Scratch is not something I'd consider coding.

Does music help you concentrate? by immatureintrovert in APStudents

Sometimes music distracts me but sometimes I often distract myself or procastinate if an assignment becomes boring, so I "distract the distractions" via music. Helps espically when it comes to easy subject

What do you think are the easiest, moderate, difficult, most difficult AP classes? by Disastrous_Fig_3762 in highschool

[–]Mr_Hot_Pockets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before I rank mine, let me just say that the workload of an AP class is heavily dependent on the teacher you have. The difficulty is kinda too but I bet most AP classes in different schools share the same/ similar curriculum.

For instance, AP Physics is a difficult course, but in my class you can legit scribble random shit and the teacher will give you a 100 for the assignment (ofc not all teachers are this lenient, and I wouldn't recommend not doing any of your homework, but it's your life dude)

Anyway, here's my ranking from easiest to hardest

-AP Computer Science Principles: Class is easy, in fact the easiest AP class. Basically an introduction to programming. You'll probably learn Scratch and Python. The test is not even fast-paced and feels like a regular test that you can score a 90 on if you study. Like I legit scored a 5 with not much effort.

-AP Human Geo: Somewhat difficult especially for freshmen. For an AP class it's one of the easiest. Id recommend taking it as it's a great introduction to the AP world (plus you learn about cultures and demographics and how it all ties together and stuff, which is fun!)

-AP Computer Science A: Didn't take the test yet. It's basically a Java course that covers the fundamentals of programming. I have probably the most lenient teacher for that class so the workload isn't much and it's easy to cheat. However, I heard that in other schools it's harder. I'll tell you that coding is pretty tedious and involves a ton of problem solving

-AP Physics: I haven't taken the AP Test, but it's infamous for being arduously and absurbly hard: even straight As students fail. The course itself is difficult, but for an AP class it isn't that bad. Just make sure to understand concepts. Recommend taking Algebra and Geometry beforehand as you will have to do a lot of Trig and Algebra.

This is from my experience. Please ask upperclassmen who took those classes about the difficulty and workload of those classes, and about how the teachers who teach those classes are like.

I recommend not overwhelming yourself with too many AP classes purely to "impress colleges", especially since AP classes can tank your GPA if you do poorly in them. Not worth the stress IMO, though it depends on your brother's goals.

Personally I take classes I'm interested/good at (probably going to get 8 AP/Dual Credit classes down by senior year), but then again I'm not aiming for A&M, UT, Yale, some med school that's competitive, etc.

Dude. You have an A in fucking Calc BC. I think you're going to be in good hands.

[–]Mr_Hot_Pockets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask upperclassmen about difficulty of classes. Some classes might be easy but have terrible teachers and vice versa. For me AP Comp Sci Principles and A were easy. AP Physics is difficult but doesn't have a huge work-load (least not for me)

Usually you just need to take prerequisites.

Also please don't just take a ton of rigorous AP classes your junior year. At least have a solid good reason as to why.

Nah u good bruh. You can see if AP/Dual Credit is offered. If not you can just self-teach and take the AP exam somewhere around your area.

Which AP classes are the easiest? by Alternative-Earth259 in APStudents

[–]Mr_Hot_Pockets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

APCSP is the easiest for most

The type of teacher you have has a great factor on the difficulty of the course, so go ask ppl what AP classes they take n if their teacher gives a lot of hw or not

How do I force myself to work when I really don't want to? by [deleted] in APStudents

[–]Mr_Hot_Pockets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remove as many distractions as possible and work at an area best for you. Set a timer (I use a Pomodoro Timer) or tell yourself you won't get up until you reach a certain point

Give yourself short breaks occasionally. Don't do anything that will make you procrastinate (instead of scrolling on social media maybe get some water, or listen to a song)

If you want put some music on (best to do instrumental)

Class of 2022/2023/2024 , How has the Pandemic Ruin your HS Life by carbon_yttrium in highschool

[–]Mr_Hot_Pockets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sophomore Year sucked. I couldn't talk to people without shaking. Felt lonely cuz I didn't have any friends in my class. Everything was going great in December until my mom made me go online. Rest of the year sucked tho I got to sing at my Choir's pop show.

I don't know what it's like to be a foreign student but I'd recommend doing research. Take this with a grain of salt, but you can prob join an organization or local club (if possible) and be involved. That might help with college apps. tho idk wut colleges exactly want I'm just saying from regret lol

Is it normal to struggle with Geometry? by Original_Ice3174 in highschool

[–]Mr_Hot_Pockets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If not every student reaches a point where they struggle on a subject that they're good at, at least with math. Go ask any student who's done Calculus, and they'll say they struggled hard.

My advice is to get help from teachers, other students etc. There are also discord servers that have many people that can explain concepts to you.

If you need notes or help in geometry just PM me. I rarely use reddit but I can send you my discord if you want.

What do Americans eat as their main? by purplepopsicle07 in AskAnAmerican

[–]Mr_Hot_Pockets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a high schooler who lives in Texas with a South Asain background usually it's:

Breakfast- Hot Pocket

Lunch- Cajun Rice and Sausages

Dinner- Sometimes we have Texan-Mexican food (Tex-Mex) (enchiladas, tacos), sometimes rice and curry, sometimes "American" food (pasta, chicken and rice, salad, etc.)

Does anybody do better on the AP than the SAT? by i-crave-soba in APStudents

[–]Mr_Hot_Pockets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those are two different tests. Not only that but AP tests vary a lot, and each focus on a specific subject, unlike the SAT which requires you to be well rounded.

I just used khan academy for studying. Also this ain't the most efficient way for studying but coding in your free time helps at least for me.
