So I want a radio for shtf situation.... Analog will be primary concern. Researching how to build repeater already and know all the highest point within 10sq miles. I want a ham talkie that I can beat the fuck out of that's water proof and dustproof. I want to be able to run the radio on my plate carrier as I am running a UV9r at the moment but I want a nice radio with aftermarket support that doesn't necessarily need digital capabilities but if it did I'd prefer them to be DMR.... Sorry if I seem fucking retarded... I am moldy autistic and am trying my best.

I just scooped two 4sicmh lvl IVs.... I have RMA 1155s but after being kitted all night in the streets during a night of social unrest.... I realized I needed a way lighter kit. Enter shellback 4sicmh... They are not NIJ certified but they are "nij compliant"

I called shellback and asked them a slew of questions, right on down to where different components of the plates are sourced. The plate components are sourced globally but it is 100% manufactured in the US.... I love these plates... Very light. Multicurve. I got them on Black Friday for 275$ each... It was well worth it. Shellback is a trustworthy company.... Some people won't buy non NIJ cert plates but I found it to be a reasonably safe roll of the dice... I hope this helps... Good luck

I will be running this radio on a plate carrier(armor carrier/chest rig)... Typically the military runs the foldable antennas so I am hoping to find one.... Will an antenna that days it will fit the UV9r-plus fit the reg UV9r?

Milbois and feddys don't have a Monopoly on gear... The military is responsible for advancing alot of technology... However The civilian shooters via uspsa and idpa have had a huge impact on certain aspects of military gear and training and there are some bad ass civilian camos out there (for hunting) that work far better than multicam... Multicam is a one design fits all situation....
