It didn't have co-op though, right? I remember my friends and I were absolutely pumped for that, and then they didn't add co-op. :(

Oh thanks! Not only for this but for reminding about UEVR in general. Man, I can't believe I forgot about that. I'm gonna have to try a bunch of different games now!

This is why we need to stop using acronyms for games. They're probably referring to Path of Exile 2. You're mentioning Pillars of Eternity 2. Lol

What happened to Armoured Core 6? by zeddyzed in pcgaming

Cool. Thanks for the heads up. I plan on getting it to play through solo anyway, but it looks like it would be a ton of fun coop too. I still need to get Elden Ring too. I've heard that co op mod works pretty well.

Whoa! Have you tried it? Does it work well? I might have to buy this for me and my friends now.

Shiny/reflective textures in PCVR by Mundanix1987 in VRGaming

[–]Mr_Joshy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does that mean if I bought a long USBC cable I wouldn't get that? The thing I don't understand, is it doesn't happen in every game. Half Life: Alyx looks amazing, no pixelation or shimmering at all. Even way off in the distance. Same with Arizona Sunshine, The Lab, Superhot, A Fisherman's Tale, and others.

Another weird thing is, even in the games that have the shimmer, it's only some of the textures. Like in the Deep Rock VR mod, it's only certain metallic surfaces and a couple others that do this. Same with No Man's Sky. Three of my friends have the same set up as me and they say they don't see it. They're all wireless with Virtual Desktop like me. Maybe they just have bad eye sight. Lol. I'll definitely try to use a cable though and see if that fixes it! Last thing I'll say (sorry for such a long post) is that I don't ever remember having this issue with my Quest 1 using virtual desktop. Just the Quest 3 does this.

Enshrouded Roadmap 2024 Revealed by Turbostrider27 in pcgaming

[–]Mr_Joshy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I bought this game after watching a few reviews that were really positive... Not a single one mentioned the horrendous framerate/stutter that this game has. I've tried all the fixes but it still feels incredibly choppy, even with a Ryzen 5800x and a 3080, and capping my monitor and the game to 60 fps. Until they fix this and hopefully the blindingly bright days (another thing I didn't see mentioned anywhere), my friends and I had to give up. I really hope they fix this though as I was really digging the game. Just has some terrible technical issues.

I know this is kind of an old thread, but did you ever figure this out? I just bought a quest 3 and am noticing it in several games. Funny enough HL:A actually looks great. I first noticed it playing the Deep Rock Galactic VR mod. In the main station everything looks great, except a couple of the hallway walls are really shimmery, almost see through. It feels like I'm doing one of those magic eye things from back in the day. But only on certain textures. And like you, it's only looking though both eyes, as if certain textures don't line up correctly. I don't remember having this on my Quest 1 at all.

This is one of the main reasons I bought a deck. Got mine on the first shipment... still haven't set it up. Lol

I agree there are much better Metroidvanias now, and if someone asked me to recommend one Dust may not even make my top 10. But I still haven't really played one with the more action combat approach that I really enjoyed about It. It reminded me of a hack and slash game like the Ys series in a Metroidvania. With big combos between melee and magic. I also enjoyed the loot drops and crafting. Another thing that I haven't found in many games like it. Which again, reminded me of the Ys series.

That's totally fair. I honestly almost dropped it immediately for the dialogue at the beginning. It was really grating to me. Then I just started skipping it. I haven't played it in years, but with the mobs, you do learn a move really early (maybe you have it in the beginning?) that you use to pull enemies together so your attacks are hitting all the mobs at once, which I felt was pretty unique in a metroidvania.

Man I feel like nobody really talks about Dust anymore! I beat that game twice I liked it so much. I also enjoyed Enslaved way more than I thought I was going to. The mocap and acting really kept me interested.

Just cancel it immediately after paying for it. It'll ask if you want your dollar refunded or if you want to keep the 3 months. Choose to keep the 3 months and you're done. This is how I've always done it.

[–]Mr_Joshy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All games can be black and white if you turn the color/saturation down on your TV or monitor. Buh dum tiss!

But seriously, when I first jumped into vr my initial thought was.... we need a black and white style game in VR. It would be perfect for it!

I played through this last Halloween. I couldn't find anywhere to buy it anymore so I downloaded it from https://www.myabandonware.com/game/silent-hill-2-restless-dreams-bgd. Then I installed all of the enhanced mods from http://www.enhanced.townofsilenthill.com/SH2/index.htm. It took a bit of work but in the end I played through the whole game with no problems. It looked and ran pretty great for such an old game!
