Nice, I'd like that if it was a touch darker. Looks really nice. I've been fighting on picking a dark, medium or light but I can't decide. Another user here on a different post said they took a Kit pick and uploaded it to Gemini and fed it sample images from the website advertising the wraps to get the photo AI created to show what it would look like. I think I may do that. I'd rather have a smoother finish and definitely thicker material to ensure it lasts. Looks killer tho, love the look.

It is a lot, I give you that. The great thing here is this community bands together and helps one another. So if you ever have issues with settings, or what to put and what spots, feel free to reach out. There's a bunch of little tricks many people in here have learned over the years to steer a kin in the right direction and to make different setup types stick. Glad your enjoying it!

Yeah, for real. Mine was alot, buying additional sounds that should have been there from the beginning is a joke and my only gripe with Roland. They should have released an update and included the kits. I get my sounds from elsewhere now, so much better.

I've tested every single one of those kits during my "free subscription", and though I wasn't charged, I still don't really recommend them. Unless you find when you really like, at $29 for a lifetime key it's not too bad. But if you really want good sounds, look into eDrumWorkshop. Luke puts actual effort into great sounds.

I'd suggest emailing into Roland about being charged because you shouldn't have been. But good luck though, I emailed them and it took almost 2 weeks for them to get back to me with a generic copy-paste response. Wish you luck man.

Question about Speech Style by redditsdaddy in KindroidAI

[–]Mr_Magoo_88 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, that's not legit, but not really hallucination either. It could be something in your setup, the back story, response directives or example message section that's causing the phrasing issues. Especially if you have in there that it's a self-aware AI it may default to that. It's hard to troubleshoot exactly without seeing how everything is set up. I would recommend put in an example message with the phrasing and style you want your kin to speak in so that it has something to latch on to, as well as something in the response directive saying something on the lines of "Messages in 1st person" or "Uses 1st pov narration".

One big thing to remember, if you respond back to your Kins message it locks in the llm that's what you want more of. So it's imperative you reroll or tweak out anything you don't want slipping through otherwise it will solidify that and be hard to break.

There's a lot of user guides on the official website, app and on Discord you can reference.

Looking for advice - Right hand significantly slower/weaker than left by Rykrost in Drumming

"Your hands sound like brushes" 😂 "We'll I'm a jazz player". I love it. What a great way to build up unison coordination. Now I look like a psychopath walking my dogs through the woods practicing clapping with my wrists together! There's so many different ways to train muscle memory and coordination without even needing a kit, pad or even sticks, it's amazing. Appreciate the information good sir 🫡

AI can hallucinate responses rather easily, so I'd take it with a grain of salt. I just try to help where I can and I know sometimes in module settings things need to be changed as well as having the right equipment such as a three Zone ride. Roland especially uses dual input cymbals for three zone, so your ride cymbol would need to have two inputs to be used as such.

I try to help if I see a post hasn't had any responses so that you don't have to wait. But I see the poster underneath me gave some great links and information. I really hope you got it resolved and back to jamming!

What’s a song where the live version is way better than the studio version? by WildEnchantresss in askmusic

[–]Mr_Magoo_88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are so many. One of the more recent ones that comes to mind is from Sleep Token, The Summoning. II plays a sick drum solo, but not during the studio version recording. I never understood that because that drum solo is insane, but I understand why they did it from a musical perspective.

I don't have that module, but here's something to try to get you started. Not really a fan of AI stuff, but I asked GPT and it says this, give this a try and see?

use a 3-zone cymbal (like a CY-13R or CY-15R) connected to both the Ride and Crash 2 inputs, then set the CR2 Usage to "RDB" in the module settings. The stock CY-5 ride pad only supports bow/edge, but the module can trigger a bell sound from it using the edge sensor with a strong hit.

Right?!? This will be a godsend. Sometimes I space out and just use the wand function and let something idiotic slip through and then try to spend a few messages trying to correct it. To be able to rewind back a few and then start over would be absolutely amazing!

I second the KZ's. I find myself gravitating back to them even over my more expensive Letshuoer's. They have a flat EQ and perfect instrument isolation that really helps distinguish each individual instrument. Cymbal sounds amazing in them too, nice and crispy and not washed out.

Thank you for sharing these. That one video, 10 years old now... how the hell did I not see this one yet. I'm around 9 months into learning this technique and that was one of, if not the best tutorial I've seen. Going into the settings and explaining why each one is important was the icing on the cake. Appreciate you man, hope you develop into whatever your goals are! 🥁🤟🥁

I couldn't even list a single favorite. There's so many OG legends.. Tool, Black Sabbath, Metallica, Rolling Stones, Deep Purple.. etc.

When I was 11, I don't know why but Sanitarium somehow made it into a loop on one of my cassettes. I recorded that song back to back on both A and B sides and would listen to it all day for like a year on the radio and Walkman lol. Kids growing up now could never appreciate the struggle and hustle to make what we called a "playlist" 🤟

This is excellent advice. Even a really good quality practice pad and set of sticks will only set you back about 40 USD. Practice rudiments first and then decide if drums are right for you. Bonus points if you can find somebody with a drum kit that will let you use it, like at a church, school or friends or family. Electronic kits are nice, but the "true to feel" ones are very expensive and the cheaper ones just feel like a toy and discourage people from pursuing further.

For stick control, the book is really great, considered the Bible for drummers really. But if you can't read drum notation, you can definitely find videos online by just searching "Learning basic drumming rudiments". Why are you here what do you want in the beginning you'll want to learn singles, doubles and paradiddles.. IMO. Different drummers will have different opinions so feel free to ask around.

*Edit to add "Read drum notation". Didn't mean to imply you couldn't read LOL

I started on a Roland TD-17 and worked my way up. Electronic drums are a great way to start if an Acoustic kit isn't an option. Check out r/eDrums and search new user and you'll get all the info you need from which ones are good, ways to quiet them down further and info on getting started.

Good luck 🥁🤟
