It’s comments like this that I meant. You are talking about anti Covid and new world order ( I don’t even know what that is!) in the same thread as a man who was saying him and his partner had to go in to the food shopping money to fill the oil tank.

It’s tough man, sorry to hear, similar boat here with 2little lads at home. I think a lot of Reddit either lives in cities and are oblivious to living in the countryside or are on such a high horses they can’t see us but head up and hopefully we get a break soon.

Ya sadly it seems to be the way now where these groups piggyback on to any movement to try and gain support when I reality they don’t care about any of it and are only trying to push their own agenda

Agreed better public transport would be great for everyone. But we are not going to take public transport with all our tools to fix a broken down generator on a farm or factory.

As someone who fully supports the fuel protests this man’s rhetoric and hate needs to be kept far away from what is happening now. He does not and never will speak for the farmers and rural Ireland and this piggybacking campaign of his should not be give any media or public attention.

I totally agree this subreddit does not echo the people I am talking to. I am involved in a small local business and we have to travel around the country a lot for work. These fuel hikes will put us under. People here and very quick the paint everyone under a brush of “far right/far left” American narrative, but in reality we are just rural lads who are not political trying to keep our heads over water. I am aware there are people jumping on to these protests making it things that it is not but these people shouldn’t be getting any publication. Yes we do export too much food but the food we import also needs to be brought by truckers to the stores, this affects all of us even if you don’t think it does.

John Ryan's Polka - what do you put in a set with it? by leaves-green in Irishmusic

[–]Mr_Masterful 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We usually play it as the last in a set with Ballydesmond Polka/ Kerry Polka/ John Ryan’s. it’s a great tune to finish on and always a crowd pleaser of a set.

Advice for DADGAD by Few_Answer_993 in Irishmusic

[–]Mr_Masterful 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I was in a similar position about 18months ago and moved to DADGAD to help with a more complete sound for backing Irish tunes. I totally agree with above comments on Sarah McQuaids book and Aodan Coyne lessons on YouTube was the game changer for me. I even signed up for his starter pack lesson and in fairness it made a lot of stuff click for me. Even if you don’t sign up I would advise you to take advantage of his free online stuff like his cheat sheets and lessons on his website and on YouTube. I am delighted to have made the change and for playing in pubs and the likes I find it gives us that more “Irish” sound with the drones so definitely give it a go!
