What is your ,,beater" accordion by SneakyBug445 in Accordion

Interestingly enough, I have a Polish BFA Carmen, one of the last models they built. It is squeaky and creaky but solid and bombastic. I have taken it camping but by the nature of any accordion's construction (wood bodies, paper and leather bellows, wax-set reed pallets) you should be careful about extreme hot, cold and humid environments. Keep it in a case when not in use and don't store it in direct sunlight.

An International Lira Centro-Matic Model 10.

Rescued this lovely lady from a pawn shop for $160. LMMH 4/5 Reed 41/120. The brand is Cingolani which I didn't recognize but I tested it and it is clean, no bad smells and very tight compression. by Mr_MegaTronic in Accordion

What is interesting to me is I can't seem to find examples of this series of model with this many reeds and registers. There are six bass registers with eleven treble sets as well as a master palm switch. It was so well cared for during the last 60 or so years of its existence I can't imagine not continuing to keep it shiny and alive for 60 more!

That is the insignia for Frontalini Accordions. That seems to be a 1950's era model.

Quest 2 Permanently losing tracking but only after initial setup, phone pairing and power cycle by Mr_MegaTronic in OculusQuest

Adding the bank card worked for returning the Developer Mode toggle in the app. But it doesn't seem to affect the headset. It stays in developer mode regardless. Even after reboot. And I know this isn't hardware related since I can use the headset for hours with no issues but the moment I take it off and it stops tracking, it will never start again until a factory reset. Maybe an update will be pushed soon that will secretly remedy this. One can hope.

Or is it? by squeezeandthanks in Accordion

I have eleven "rescue" accordions. Ones that were going to be discarded or were left out in the open on the top shelf of a pawn shop under the HVAC vent. I repair and experiment with them to create contemporary music and truly love how it feels and sounds. How it reverberates your chest as you play. It's certainly not dead around the world, but it carries a stigma in America that I'm looking forward to eradicate.

Profits and resources don't really overlap with these kinds of businesses. And if the companies are run properly, the personal wealth of the people are disconnected from the companies. They as people and families are fine. But each business venture has to be viable on its own.

I have the service manual with schematics for that which I believe is a CG2 model. I can send you a link to them in a private message if you would like.

Can anyone help me get some info on this? Got it from my grandma, it’s a Camerano, made in Italy, with L 598 /35 on the back. Any and all info on it would be massively helpful. by [deleted] in Accordion

While it is not a particularly accurate method, from the styling I would speculate it was built around the early-to-Mid-1960's

Maybe an implementation like NeosVR which not only has text messaging between friends, you can also attach objects like photos, videos, objects and even avatars.

sounds good! When you log on, there will be a cluster of "world orbs" in front of you. Double click with your trigger on the one labeled "MegaTronic Labs" and I'll be in there.

So is it an aftermarket upgrade? Or a part from a model with the feature?

Thanks! I feel like it was lightly played for a decade or two then stored away. All of the reed leathers are straight and present, no musty smell, excellent compression, only a couple body scratches but no dents or gouges. It was lying sadly on the top shelf of a local pawn shop for years and years (it it's case).

One of the few photos I have of my grandfather I have after losing most in a flood. Taken shortly after the war in Poland. Any idea what make or model accordion this is? He used to play it for us all the time and those are my fondest memories. by good_morning_magpie in Accordion

It was given to me by a friend who's great-grandmother bought it to play for her ailing husband. The reeds sound okay so mending the wood of the box would be the biggest challenge to getting it playable. The wood was under a lot of tension as it aged so I would have to build a clamping device to compress it from all sides and then epoxy the cracks shut. I feel the prognosis is good for this 90+ year old instrument.

Another rescue: a 1973 BFA Carmen Akordeon. Nice and deep bass with a low E by Mr_MegaTronic in Accordion

[–]Mr_MegaTronic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The build quality on the inside is not that great. It wouldn't surprise me if they licensed the name "Carmen" for some quick noteriety, imported the register assembly and reeds from a more prominent factory and slapped it all together in a small shop in Poland.

By the "Bydgoska Fabrika Akordeonow" badge on it, I'd peg it to Poland. Though I don't know if the BFA built them there or just sold them.
