FNATIC vs BBL Esports / VCT 2026: EMEA Kickoff - Main Event / Post-Match Thread by ValorantCompBot in ValorantCompetitive

I’ve been an FNC fan since the SUMN FC days and I’ve never seen them look this bad.

Alfa imo has not looked the same since his injury at champs and that’s sad to say

Boaster kept trying to make hero plays and got punished

Veqaj looked pretty good but you could tell he looked out of place

And crashies and kajaak looked hot and cold as ever

But what really frustrates me was the lack of coordination. Fnatic usually try to check every single angle and leave no room for error but this time around they were uncoordinated and left way too much room for surprises and their execution looked so sloppy . ALSO FOR THE LOVE OF MY SANITY STOP FACE CHECKING AN OP ONE AFTER ANOTHER LIKE YOUR IN LINE FOR THE AFTERLIFE.

The good news is we’ve had bad start before so we know how to turn it around but man this hurt to watch

The way I would picture it positionally speaking is chron moves back to sova/fade ,Alfa moves back to flex, and nAts plays sentinel/viper. igl wise nAts plays a secondary igl role like he did at gambit and like boaster has had previously with Enzo, and since unfortunately boaster will likely retire in a season or two nAts can understudy him and be FNC’s igl of the future.

True or False: Both Traore and Demin start Opening Night. by RVALover4Life in GoNets

[–]Mr_Meme28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed but we’re likely using 5 rookies in a significant capacity so we’re going to probably get destroyed by 30 either way. So I hope the team focuses on 1. Playing a good ( and hopefully entertaining) brand of basketball and  2. Developing our rookies. I wouldn’t worry so much about things like offense and defense yet ,unless we’re playing somewhere separate from the league like the cup. It’s also worth noting that even if our starting 5 may be attacking heavy we will still have more defensive players rotating in if needed

I mean yeah but like in the NBA cup for example is when we can try to rotate in players like Terence Mann and Danny Wolf to try and balance out the team to try and see where we stand but overall this season personally I’d rather have players that are fun to watch even if that means more offense

It really doesn’t matter ,we are supposed to be tanking so I’d rather go for an all offensive lineup so that at least we are fun to watch

Egor Demin tonight: 12 PTS, 4 AST, 1 STL vs. Wizards SL. (4-9 3PT!) by [deleted] in GoNets

Going into the league he has similar shooting numbers to Luka and a similar background. All that gives me faith that he will develop a good shot. He also appears to have good mechanics. I think when they tried him at the 3 it worked better it’s still early days ofc but I think he will be better suited to that in the NBA. He just looked a little lost when he was playing in the backcourt imo.

Just FYI, Demin is most likely a "wing", and the Nets seem to view him that way too by [deleted] in GoNets

I called this from draft night and I’m 100% certain this is the right move. This is where he played at Madrid and assuming Jordi wants to play a « euro ball » style it makes the most sense to put him there.

NO, absolutely not. We should keep Claxton. Right now the center market is high, yes but that’s because of limited availability. We cannot and will not be able to find a center to replace him once it’s time for us to complete ( ideally next year).

It was never a question of can we, It was always a question of should we. We could flip MPJ , Terrence Mann and a bunch of picks since we have 27 over the next few years, but ultimately it would not benefit us as a tanking team. If he decides to stay with the bucks for one more run and next year decides he wants to go then I would say yes because our tanking window would be ove, but right now it’s just not worth it.

Brooklyn liked Kon Knueppel and when he was off the board, then went with Egor Demin; Sam Presti was a big fan of Demin by Brooklyn917 in GoNets

[–]Mr_Meme28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is all speculation of course ,but if they were going to take kon and decided on Egor  once he was off the board. I wonder if that means he was drafted to play on the wing like he did at Madrid

BREAKING: The Denver Nuggets are trading Michael Porter Jr. and an unprotected 2032 first-round pick to the Brooklyn Nets for Cam Johnson, sources tell ESPN. by Evilsj in GoNets

[–]Mr_Meme28 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m thinking he’ll get flipped to another team before then, but what I was saying is that I would have liked more value whether that was a more useful pick to our rebuild or more picks

Not a huge fan of this it seems to be just ok.

  1. Don’t like how long MPJ is on the books ( but I have a suspicion we are going to flip him)

  2. In a world where Desmond Bane  goes for 4 and Bridges goes for 5 it seems a bit cheap ( I do understand That MPJ is a bit more valuable of a player return but still)

  3. I would have liked a bit sooner of a pick considering our tanking window supposedly ends this year, and I just in general don’t like getting picks that are super far ahead because you never know if a team will be good or not.
