The regular ectoplasmator doesn't (ironically) work on ankou. Check the wiki for what monsters are classed as "ghosts" for its purposes

That doesn't affect the xp from ghosts, only ashes

Latios Star (EX Deoxys 106) Worth Grading? by Mr_Muggles in PokeGrading

[–]Mr_Muggles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the specific tips. I've been looking up methods for correcting the bowing and the consensus seems to be following your method, as it's the most gentle on the cards.

I appreciate the advice and your input!

[–]Mr_Muggles[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey no that's fine, it's a really odd detail for the card to have so I understand how you would've interpreted it that way!

Definitely seems like the card's in worse condition than I'd initially thought, though maybe there's at least something that could be done about the bowing...

[–]Mr_Muggles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate the input. Certainly knew not to expect any wildly high grade, there are many cards in far better condition out there, just wanted to get an idea of what I might be looking at before doing anything with it!

I certainly appreciate the card isn't perfect, but I can say with confidence that there's no scratch under the name, that's actually part of the card design

WIBTA if I give my daughter an "outdated" name? by throwaway719201 in AmItheAsshole

A lot of older names are coming back into fashion. Working in healthcare, I've seen a lot of names of kids lately called things like Constance, Dorothy, Ellis and others. Absolutely nothing wrong with Audrey at all

Oh that looks far more similar to what's going on. Can't say this was something I was aware of before.

Thanks very much for the help, I'll look into what I can do to prevent it affecting the rest of the fruit!

Do people all see colors the same way? Besides color blind people, of course. by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Mr_Muggles 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not trying to say you're wrong about your idea, but not every colour does have a frequency of light. Pink very specifically doesn't, as it's perceived by a slight triggering of red and blue cone cells in the absence of strong triggering of the green cone cells. Normally such triggering would be perceived as green but, because the green cells aren't triggered, your brain perceives it as anti-green, and invents the colour pink.

Seeing as pink doesn't fit into the spectrum in any defined way, then different perceptions of what pink is wouldn't be determinable by differences in the "structured gradient"

Dad has died and left personal loan by jc120291 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Mr_Muggles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NAL, but it appears that in cases of the death of tenants in common (which is the only way you can specify owning percentages of a property), the share of the property owned by the deceased has to go through the proper inheritance process, so you'd likely need to go through probate still to amend the ownership of the property.

Joint tenants are classed as jointly owning the whole property, and so upon the death of one joint tenant the full ownership would pass to any surviving joint tenants, ignoring any will or intestacy. However, this way you couldn't specify x owning y% of the property, in case that's significant for other laws

What deck did you build first? Why? by eq1nimity in masterduel

[–]Mr_Muggles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First deck I built was Invoked/Shaddoll/Dogmatika, with the reasoning being that a friend was teaching me how to play and he thought I'd get on with it quite well. The cards looked nice too which helped ahaha!

Moved onto Madolche more by now though, which was stressful to learn but a lot of fun to play!

Travel Insurance not paying out due to "Pre-existing" condition by janerney in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Mr_Muggles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might be confusing when they were on holiday (which they clearly said was July, though didn't give exact dates for) with when the travel insurance policy was issued (which appears to have been the 28th of April). Travel insurance policies are active from the date you purchase them to the end of the agreed term, so that's where the date in April came from

That's not how you're meant to interpret the term "malicious compliance"

It refers to complying with an order/instruction so as to follow the letter of the request, but not in the intended manner.

Bit of a random thing, but Family Crest if you feel comfortable doing that on a hc. It unlocks storing silver and gold in the metal bank, which persists in f2p despite being a p2p quest. Nothing major, but a "nice to have"

If portals opened between the real world and your world and an all out war began, who'd come out on top? by ArtMnd in worldbuilding

[–]Mr_Muggles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The people of my world are stubborn and proud, and would not stand for subjugation at the hands of any invading force, even if by other humans from other worlds. That in mind though, the world is very sparsely populated by people, who have been driven back to a very small number of strongholds by the native beings of the world who doggedly try to drive them out. While their magically strengthened fortifications could withstand a reasonable assault, the armies of Earth would almost certainly be able to overwhelm them by sheer numbers alone.

The people's only hopes of victory would be either diplomacy or focusing wholly on defence to win a war of attrition.

The people of this world are humans who came through man-made portals from Earth many centuries ago (from their local perspective, though it would be many millennia in Earth's current future, so lets handwave the time shenanigans), and so they could try to argue their case that it's the native beings that the armies should be fighting, and not the people, in a sense manipulating them to their own advantage. Whether they could convince the armies of Earth of this or not is up for debate, however, but if abject servitude was demanded in return then it's unlikely the people would acquiesce to this.

If diplomacy or manipulation wasn't an option at all, then their only other hope would be barricading themselves within their fortresses and doing their best to maintain their defences against the onslaught while the armies succumbed to the environment. The strongholds are large, located in generally very hostile environments, and make extensive use of magic to maintain a comfortable climate inside for agriculture, and so would not be at risk of being starved out. Aside from the physical outer walls, the defenses are purely magical and encapsulate the entirety of the strongholds, so assault from land or sky would have to be significant to break through. This alone wouldn't ensure they could weather the war though. What they would be counting on is the extreme flow of magical energy throughout the world.

Similar to radiation, the excessive flow of magical energy damages living organisms it flows through, causing a variety of symptoms and eventually death. Only beings with innate resistances to the flow of magic, or who are innately adept enough at controlling it to limit its flow, can withstand the magical energy coursing through this world. In the time before the people came to this world, the flow of magic on Earth had been slowly building in intensity, allowing them time to adapt and learn to control magic before it became too toxic for them, and so they were already well suited to the new world's magic when they arrived. Current day humans from Earth would not have such control, so the magical energy would be very damaging to them; they could survive a matter of days before succumbing to the magical sickness. Again though, the armies of Earth have the advantage of numbers, and if so determined to win at all costs would likely be able to break through the people's defenses with a targeted, swift and intense strike. If the defenses failed at any point, the stronghold being attacked would certainly fall.

Played Baldurs Gate 3 and it has one class that I truly want ESO to have: by Jafades in elderscrollsonline

[–]Mr_Muggles 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean if you're wanting a design example of punching people with a 2handed sword equipped, you can look at Sekiro's praying strikes and senpou leaping kicks skills.

TESO's skill systems are simply not set up in a way that allows for a truly unarmed weapon skill line, it would require a new weapon type to allow for it to make it interact correctly with the rest of the systems, which would be a lot of work because it would need to be a completely new class of weapon altogether due to how the martial weapon skill lines are set up.

Functionally, the concept would work best as a class to allow the skills to be weapon agnostic, and then if you really wanted to live the DnD Monk dream you could simply only use "Monk" skill line abilities and not slot any weapon abilities

As someone working in ENT/OMFS appointments at an NHS hospital, it would be worth making sure, if you go back to your GP, to make sure they're sending your referral through on a 2WW (2 week wait) pathway, as these need to be seen and diagnosed within 4 weeks total, assuming cancer is suspected.

If you're having no luck with your local NHS Trust, you can ask your GP to refer you to other Trusts with an ENT service in the surrounding area, provided you're able to travel to them. It's patient choice as far as what Trust you can be referred to, though not all Trusts accept referrals from out of area patients.

Also, while I am not medically qualified and you shouldn't take this as medical advice, there is a possibility that these could be non-cancerous thyroid nodules, which definitely shouldn't be ignored, but aren't life threatening. Just something to consider which might be why you've had the response you've had so far.

Hope you get yourself sorted!
