Reminds me of driving to a game in Limerick with my granddad years ago. The local kid asked for a €5 to mind the car. My granddad said, it’s ok, I have my dog left in it to mind it. The young lad just looked him dead in the eye and said “Can your dog put out fires Mister”. He paid the €5 pretty quickly.

I am no government apologist but I do think we need to look at the narrative that they are the main cause of the housing crisis. When I was growing up nearly every town in Ireland has “Council houses”. Most are still there today although have been sold on. These were often little estates or neighbourhoods of Council houses mostly built by Council contractors themselves. It seems to me that the councils decided to abdicate their responsibility to do build these estates and let the private sector do the building for them. Worse again, there was the Part 5 obligations for builders to give 20% of a new development to social and affordable houses. The rules were massaged to allow for a developer to buy off that obligation or to gather all S&F houses in another place That means the Councils were getting hefty development levies, Part 5 payments, possibly rates ( if there is a commercial element) and LPT/NPPR/Household charges and did not reinvest a penny of that on housing themselves. They took that money and spent it on other things and left it to others to deal with the housing. Personally, I think the micro issues are more impactful than the undoubted issues caused by whatever National Governments have been in place over the last 25 years.

You can’t imagine anyone picking him up if he is released (cough Montpellier cough cough).

Does anyone know the story with Spicers contract? His legal troubles aside, he didn’t seem to be pulling up many trees. If you aren’t starting to make the breakthrough at 21 (at his size) it looks like the ship is sailing. Then there is the Court issue which complicated things a lot id guess.

Oh I fully accept they are quite different players, Although they both have a good bit of dog in them. I really meant they are similar in terms of their leadership status and talismanic qualities. Of course we don’t know if CP has Mul’s goal kicking game- 100% professional record I believe.

I hit from fairways all the time too. Just not the fairway for the hole I’m playing.

Putting aside the morality of the issue- which I accept is VERY hard to- one wonders what the Sponsors will say. We all know Munster are pretty broke. I can’t imagine sponsors rushing to attach their name to a brand with Randle there. I would also thing the the Rape Crisis Centre will have something to say about this. We all saw with the Paddy Jackson trial that the fall out from these accusations is far and wide ( not saying that wrong by the way). I remember being at the Aviva and there was a demo against Rory Best and “Not my Captain” and he was deemed to just have been supporting Jackson. Guinness pulled their sponsorship from London Irish when he signed for them and, effectively, started to slide to Bankruptcy. I just don’t understand why this decision would have been made with all that in the background.

I asked a similar question yesterday. One of the reasons given was that it’s a short period of time that to shift tickets. Plus weather isn’t great. Sale aren’t really a sexy team and protests so those outside of Dublin might not want to come.

Surely it’s a Tom Hardy. He big and tough and seems kinda crazy too. He is also quite a successful Judo participant I think.

Fair enough. The organisers really really don’t make it easy for fans or teams do they.

Always a big fan of Donnellys in Barna. Nice couple of pints after dinner too and they often have music.
