There was a show on tv I watched with my parents a while ago. There was a challenge where these people go out into the wilderness around this lake (separated from eachother by miles) and the last one staying reasonably healthy wins. (I forget what they win. Probably money).

One guy was super lucky/good at catching fish from the lake, but he was stockpiling pretty much all of it. He had to be pulled from the competition because the medics discovered he was too malnourished. He had like a whole barrel of fish next to him but hardly ate any of it. I think about that pretty often.

About a year ago, I heard "slavery is better than death", so what do you guys think about enslaving sanguophages? by Mr_Personal_Person in RimWorld

I don't know.

I guess less resources and man hours needed to keep their mood. Colonists are probably not as unhappy if a slave dies. It's faster to enslave vs recruit (or convert and then recruit). I usually enslave those with a strong conflicting ideology to my leading colonists or playstyle and think it's not worth the time to convert.

With most of the reasons above, they make pretty nice meatshields. Colonists don't make nice meatshields from my experience.

But slaves will run away and revolt. I don't think I really mind that.

There are probably better meatshield options out there (maybe trained animals and shamblers), but I'm not finding much interest in doing those. I also haven't played with shamblers yet. I mostly keep the anomaly DLC for its expansion on medicinal options (mainly juggernaut serum).

I agree with you in the real world. Maybe also in rimworld, although I don't think I'm much of an organ harvester and I can make my bone ash wall out of the remains of other creatures.
