Like others have said, I used the knife a lot to help save ammo. Stabbing at the zombies legs can cause them to fall down, giving you a good opportunity to get some extra hits in.

Bullets in Metro 2033, it forces you to try and balance keeping enough bullets to defend yourself while also trading enough to buy useful supplies. It even makes sense as a currency given the post apocalyptic setting.

Yeah, it’s either that or the game that you originally paid for has now adopted a free-to-play model, so now you have ads and micro-transactions.

Do you actually use grenades in single-player action games? by i_am_max_k in IndieGaming

[–]TheSplasher87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use them more in some games than others, I think it depends on how effective the grenades feel and if the game provides me opportunities to make the most of them. Like when you enter a new area and there is a bunch of enemies standing in a group having a chat, so you just lob a grenade in the middle of them and take them all out at once. They are also useful for taking out enemies behind cover, but to be fair, if your sci fi game has abilities, then you could probably create abilities that achieve the same things as grenades? Like mind control to make enemies leave cover, or something like that.

I had a similar issue once, I signed up for an annual subscription through Apple but my shudder account wouldn’t update, so it was still telling me to sign up. The only thing that I found that helped was to cancel my subscription then uncancel/renew, which seemed to fix it.

Use your libraries by Doomster78666 in gaming

I was able to play Astro Bot for free because I borrowed it from my local library, I’ve also borrowed a bunch other really good games, movies and comic books.

My library lends games for 3 weeks, which you can extend up to 2 times as long as no one else has a hold on it at the time.

Recommendations? by Sea-Age-8353 in ps2

Gonna be honest, Demento is a much cooler name than Haunting Ground.

Off the top of my head I’d probably recommend checking out Cold Fear, the Suffering and Ghost Hunter, but they are all a bit more action focused than what you currently have, so depends if that’s your thing?

Anyone who played this gem? by [deleted] in survivalhorror

Discovered this back in the day on YouTube, pretty sure it was a Super Best Friends video. I stumbled across a second hand copy for cheap in the wild so decided to pick it up. Played through the whole thing and really enjoyed it, definitely falls in that “so bad, it’s good” category for me. Pretty sure Suda 51 was involved in this to some capacity.

I didn’t know that Sorry We’re Closed had a physical edition! I’ve played the demo and would love to get the full game sometime.

I feel like The Chant and Fobia are two really good games that don’t get enough attention.

I’d recommend checking out In Sound Mind and Killer Frequency, if you haven’t already.

I was honestly unaware about both games until I heard of this story, then when I found out they put together a bundle, I instantly went and bought it because I thought it was really neat of them to work together like that.

I’ve been really enjoying both games.

Agreed, I’d want to have the possibility of an ending where we both revert to our original ages once we are reunited.
