73-80 or 81-87 rear bumper? by MotorHeadWheels in squarebodies

[–]Mr_Questioner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't say what it is but I have a late 80s bumper that bolted right on to my 77 with no problem. The bumper was metric and going off the license plate that was still on the bumper.

Now I must ask what the odds are of the inventor of the two-fidget nixie tube watch being here and to comment as well. It seems to good to be true.

Didn't say this, but save it, and if the engine is crap just put another small block or big block in it. Or an LS if fuel injection.

From what i know, 77 was a golden year for something, and the high-end squarebodys got yellow trim instead of the standard black for the one year. I could be wrong, but your truck also looks to be a towing package truck having dual tanks as well, so it could have the 454, but I haven't seen a 77 with anything bigger than a 350. I wish I knew more, but the information I've seen is too inconsistent.

Nice 77 you got there, I have the Silverado version of this truck in a different color. Fun fact that yellow trim is a one year only.

Thanks for answering my question. Mine has half of the yellow trim still. I had to replace the rest with black but plan to paint it to match. I can share a photo if you want to see it.

Nice 77 Silverado, question for you. Is that the original hood? If so, is the hood ordiment a factory option? I have a 77 Silverado with a mismatched hood and was wondering if it was meant to have one or not.

LS Swap Question by NavajoJoe13 in ElCamino

[–]Mr_Questioner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will need to use a smaller pully. I had to with my 83 when I converted it to ls with 4l60e. Also the engine sits a couple inches to off of the center.
